    Schedule

However, the IRS also has a Safe Haven for proper classification of workers and more than likely WFF uses that safe haven ruling to classify their staff as independent contractors. Since we are unaware of the record keeping we don't know if they use that term or just filing the 1099-MISC and because nobody has complained or the IRS issued an audit it just passes as is.
Not spewwwww #847 which was the comment from an earlier poster. Ask for an audit and see what happens. As soon as the club sets any sort of schedule for staff you are considered an employee. The staff is not setting their schedule which is what a 1099 independent contractor does. Club staff do not pick their game times which the club requires staff to attend. Lets not forget about various meetings and events. The staff does not pick their practice times and practice nights. Again this is a schedule set forth by the club.

One audit will show your total payroll vs. how little you contribute to unemployment and employee tax. What would probably happen is you would get hit with major back taxes. Is this still spewed nonsense?

I don't like that it is changing to just one coach per team. The way RB had it set up was a very progressive way of coaching as all coaches had to contribute per team. So many things one coach could miss and having a staff of coaches watching is more eyes and ideas for each team.
He is an idiot and absolelty should not be allowed to coach his own daughters team period. He has NO clue what it is like to coach at the ECNL level. His first weekend coaching ECNL he brought the club a stellar record of five losses. We don't want him coaching our daughters.

He is obviously qualified and agree he should not have primary coaching responsibilities of the teams that his children play for. During those games he should be a "parent". No reason why his expertise cant be utilized in formulating training sessions and helping coach the other teams. Also, and most importantly, the way RB had the training set up was VERY progressive and probably the best way to run the program. It is a total step backwards to consider having a single coach for every team. just my two cents
His so called expertise is minimal and he should not be involved in a coaching or training position in a program where his daughters play. He has lunch, meetings, planning etc and is buddy buddy with the coaches and only becomes worse if he is involved in the program. His daughter getting extra playtime etc because dads involved is not right. Aside from the fact that we are not willing to have him coach our daughters. Most of the girls don't like him and most o fine parents do NOT want them anywhere near their daughter and do not feel he knows how to coach as this level. Keep him and way too many players will NOT be back. But that's what he wants so his daughter can play mores. What a joke this entire situation is. Lose GS he cannot coach at this level and he is not an honest person.

If GS is coaching the U 16 we are all leaving. Better get the check book steady to give out more of those refunds you have been handing out. We will not stay if he is coaching. ECNL is not enough to have us stay with this horrible coach and fake person. No way.....

The thread has been hijacked by 2 at most maybe 3 U16 parents. Im guessing one of them is a parent of a defender (I wont be more specific but we all know who it is) and the other 1 maybe 2 are former players for VI that do not like the extra competition and loss of play time.

Then the parent of the defender (who is probably not as good as mom thinks she is) needs to go to TBU!

You all drank the proverbial koolaid. No pity for the parents. I do however feel bad for the girls who's parents got them involved in this soccer equivalent of Jonestown. Taking on a new name and adding fancy acronyms like ECNL doesn't change the fact that the leadership in this club has been a POS for some time. This club with it's smoke and mirrors learned about three years ago about catering to the egos of parents. It's real simple. You want a parent to do what you want? Just lie to them and tell them there daughter or son can compete at a very high level when in reality they are not even close. In other words, they lied to you. And you bought in to it hook, line, and sinker. You just started writing checks. Not much you can do at this point but start eating some crow and a satisfying helping of humble pie. Good luck. There is always next year.
