    Nhsl/NHSA

It seems that NHSA/NHSL is having some issues. After running a league for 5 years they still don't understand how to budget for it correctly. They have lost money 3 out of 5 years of operation. A sizable portion of income comes from the fines and rescheduling fees they charge. They still blame GSYSL for all their problems, even though their intention was to put GSYSL out of play. Now many clubs have moved to US Club as was proposed by GSYSL 5 years ago while administrators of the league and the association have participated in US Club affiliated leagues as coaches, with their club teams in NSL or NEP, or have had their kids play on US Club affiliated teams, it no wonder they have struggled.

Now they need 3 people to run a league in addition to having a team of over paid assignors.

    From a June NHSL Meeting:

    • Granite State- US Club and was shock to clubs, NHSA quickly put together NHSL. (although now nearly 2/3rd's of NE Clubs are affiliated w/US Club Soccer)

    • • Budget to cover expenses ( league and ref fees, basic policy and procedures)

    • • As league progressed added to Policy and Procedures Such as improving league game changes and forfeits . (without the income from these fees NHSL would be further in debt)

    • • Fees do not include additional playoff games

    League Director and Expectations-

    • League Director- looking to have 1 or more people to share the role: Scheduling, seeding, rosters, set dates, etc. (a divide would be League Director, League Admin + Boys and Girls Director)
    • Fees need to be increased
    • Budget Sheet for projection of numbers
    • Suggested that a competitive committee is put in order to decide where teams are placed. Suggestion in place of a League board to just have 1 member from each club to have input
    • Present Club Members Voted unanimous for 3 people including 2 of them being Anne and Bill to get the league up and running until a final decision of the League Director is decided- this will allow the league to keep moving forward during the wait time of final placement

Club members present voted for 7 games vs 8 games for the fall season

State Associations especially NHSA is not capable of running a league. Apparently not as easy as they thought!
