It took a world village to get the boys out. A science miracle it was called.

More has come out about the coach. He was orphaned when he was 10 and feels a kinship with the boys he trains who come from poor families. He trained to be a Buddhist monk and taught the boys how to meditate to help them calm. He gave his food and water rations to the boys and was in the worst physical condition of all them. In a letter he begged the parents for forgiveness. They're calling him a hero.

I was lucky enough to work in Thailand for a few months. The people there are some the loveliest on this planet. I'm not surprised the parents waited until all were out to see their kids, or that an ex monk helped keep them alive. Imagine if it was here? Three parents would have had fistfights, four families would have already signed book deals and everyone would be filing lawsuits

The experienced divers and specialists from around the world are heroes, especially the Thai navy seal diver who came out of retirement and died while delivering oxygen tanks to the stations in the cave.

Of course those as well. It was a massive team effort. But I agree the coach, while he made a huge mistake, helped keep the situation from turning into a tragedy.

Heard the parents of one of the rescued boys want to send him to a Buddha monastery in honor of Buddha and him being saved.

The community and country came together with food trucks serving free food to the volunteers and families, Ground water specialists and pipe layers to drain out water, experienced cave divers from Britain and Australia too, and so many other volunteers.
