Young minority girls (who statistically will also be less affluent but certainly not all), don't see women they can relate to. When something is perceived as being a rich kids' sport it can become reality.
Thanks for informing me that she didn’t play in the 50’s.
Maybe a Trump convention of lesbian voters.

    You’re a peach

Not sure what field hockey and tennis have to do it, but to get to the top in those sports you need additional private training as well.
Soccer, tennis, field hockey..every sport has been monetized to the max. These top spots on sports, education, jobs, etc. most often go to people who come at with advantages and privileges. Does not mean those that make it to the top are not talented and driven. But they mostly only have to compete with others from the similarly advantaged group. Don't be blind to reality.

Idiot. You live in New England. There will be no residential academies. Of the ones in the U.S., what percentage of the players are disadvantaged?

But you have enough to pay for your kids' expensive activities. For some families activities are a non starter over rent and food.

Perfect example of the fall of childhood-you drive yourself to exhaustion (and complain about it) in order to ensure your child’s success in a field of endeavor that will have absolutely no bearing on their future life.
Let them play by themselves or join local teams.
              Take a vacation!

You all need to read about PT Barnum...he was the first sports saleman

That would be the 2nd job nimrod.

I only complain to self-righteous nimrods, never my kids and never my friends.

One of my kids loves soccer and happens to be very good at it. That makes him happy.

I started before they were born.

They are all very good students.

Merit money is real and lasts for 4 years.

                          ROTC can be very beneficial.

ROTC for 2 of my kids puts zero miles on a car. Are you having a stroke?
