National leagues are not at all justified basis the quality and cost, but parents love to brag. They pay money to brag. Read this comment

League quality is declining overall and certainly locally. Yes training at your local club matters but so does the quality of competition. If your club isn't providing good training and the competition is wildly inconsistent they're getting short changed. The NE was already weak, now it's weaker. Fewer good players will want it and it will continue to slide. Traveling across country at great expense to play fewer quality teams isn't appealing either

The NE is not weak, its just spread very thin. Where else are these good players going to go if they live in the region? Travelling across country is not appealing...period. dont care how good the competition is. You can create that here. The only reason people do it is because CLUBS and PARENTS want glamor and bragging rights.
Best way to combat it would have been the federation. But they just piled on with the furthest, longest, costliest and most glamorous event ever. This is just the way it is.

Last hope is the college coaches. If they insisted on regional showcases to possible get to see more moderate income talent instead of national glamour fests.

Most parents dont get it. Mia will go to a good school is she is good. Unfortunately most parents dont know what good is and trust these charlatans to define it.

Stop relying on theses people. do your own research.

        Sporting Omaha

A couple of Sporting Omaha teams at NPL finals...not doing well, some games are downright ugly! Can't wait until they're GDA next year and all the BBA folks crone on about playing the best of the best, lol.

So you look through NPL finals schedule, look at one club not doing well - from Omaha - and then try to draw a connection back to BBA because the Omaha team just joined DA?

You strike me as someone who is obsessed and worried about BBA. Go get a life.

Not that poster - yes that was a stretch but is indicative of the fact that several good clubs have left and USSF is adding in replacements that are much weaker. Albertson - terrible ECNL and NPL teams. Seacoast - mediocre NPL. Yes training is the bigger component of GDA and BBA does that very well. But the other part (maybe 1/3?) of the experience is games, practicing and implementing what you learn in training. The plummet from a NYCFC-level team to the basement is breathtaking. That's a lot of time and money to play teams that have no place in the system.

Ever think some of this might be about serving under served territories? One thing is for certain some of you have no vision and literally can’t see beyond where things were yesterday.

^^ So true. Status quo is what US soccer lives on. As long as the established are making $$, no one seems to really care about moving things ahead.

But it is at the expense of more meaningful games - one of the broken promises of GDA.

Vision? You have got to be kidding. My daughter has one more year in DA, and most of us are not this dumb.

There are some very good teams in DA and some terrible teams in DA. There are some very good teams in ECNL and some terrible teams in ECNL. There are a few good teams in NPL and some terrible teams in NPL. Everyone happy?

Sadly, no. You cannot make everyone happy. Because, you didn't say "the best teams are in 'XYZ' league" so we are no closer to settling this.

                        I propose a duel at 20 paces.

This entire mess is to make everyone happy. Everyone is a great player in a great league on a great team. Hope that is worth the billion dollars this industry generates.

                            Probably true.

We may end in a situation where 50% of the playing population can be called "Champion" of some league.

Yes. That is the situation the market wants so that is what it gets. It is where the money is. Always follow the money.

In places where the money is in finding and developing very talented soccer players, that is what they get.

One is necessarily better or worse then the other but they are different.
