Besides the majority of TBU teams are not above .500 in the ECNL as it is, and that includes losses to the B teams. How could the club field teams strong enough to compete in the DA and ECNL? The answer is they can not, and ECNL will be gone if they take GDA.

If that is after never than yes.

Yes if WFF somehow cease to exist, and everything magically was consolidated at TBU they might be able to field competitive teams in the GDA, but still their second teams would not be competitive in ECNL. There just is not enough girls capable of playing at a high level in this area.

Last year when both TBU and WFF had ECNL and there was no GDA, both clubs had overall losing records in ECNL, and each had one decent team out of the 10 ECNL teams combined among both clubs.

Why are we talking about Orlando and TBU? WFF GDA gave up 37 goals in 6 games this weekend.

Same reason TBU 05s, the only team at TBU to play similar competition has given up 23 goals in 4 games against TH and Concorde. They are better soccer players, same reason TBU lost most of all their games last year in ECNL to Top Hat, Concorde and Orlando City. There is not enough good players for both clubs. If your kid is playing at either Tampa club be it GDA or ECNL odds are they are second tier player compared to girls playing on the top clubs nationally.

This is not that far-fetched if you fast-forward 2-3 years: "Yes if WFF somehow cease to exist, and everything magically was consolidated at TBU...." I can picture TBU and IMG having GDA very soon if you extrapolate out how WFF, TBU and IMG as overall clubs.

The Rowdies should take over WFF, Chargers and TBU than well be able to compete with the OC and TopHats.

Given the structural challenges at each club - IMG ($$$), WFF (shrinking) and TBU (growing), it looks like TBU has the best chance of becoming more like the OC and TopHats over 2-3 years.

In 2 or 3 years? Are YNT players just going to fall out of the sky? There is pretty much a finite number of players in each age group in this area that are capable of playing at the highest levels. You could put 75 percent at TBU, or 50/50 etc. Still not enough when compared to TH and Concorde. TH pushes their best 04 playing up at 03, still has enough to be the top team at GDA and competitive in the ECNL. Same with Concorde, their 05 teams is blowing away the ECNL and their best 05's are playing up on the 04 GDA team.

More numbers can show up at either club but if they are not at the level they need to be to play against the GDA competition it won't make any difference.

Will WFF stick with GDA next year or try to go back to ECNL or NPL? This assumes GDA would not get yanked after only one year. GDA seems to be a disaster for them. Too much, too fast.

They still have NPL, but what makes you think dropping GDA would be a positive thing?

They burned the boats. There is no way off the island. When they chose to go GDA they lost a lot of other players, teams, leagues. There is no "going back."
