Imposible... as part of the merger agreement, WP players cannot leave to Weston teams unless chosen by DA and vice versa.

That would violate fysa regs. Every player is a free agent come end of state cup. As long as dont sign up for west pines, can tryout anywhere.

Nothing in FYSA regs can force a club to register a player a club chooses not to. If two clubs have an agreement, especially if they are in a partnership (where you can argue it's the same overall organization), each club can register whoever they want. You cannot force a club to register you, nor can you tell the club which team you are placed on unless it is part of your player contract.

You can wallow in ignorance and scream "but my civil rights!!!!" all you want but in the end that is BS. You can tryout with whatever club you want but if Weston says you can't play for their team without the consent of WPU or vice versa . . . . Each club can easily reserve the right to refuse you service. It doesn't preclude you from playing for Davie or Miramar or Sunrise, etc.

So to make a long story short, you can tryout for whomever you want but you can't make a club (in this case 2 clubs that have a partnership agreement) to sign you. And all you wanna be lawyers should know you can't force a business to work for you or to let your kid play soccer with them.

            Analyze This

            April 18, 2019
Good afternoon WPU Coaches, Players and Parents,

In a continued effort to solidifying our footprint in the local soccer community, West Pines United F.C. is excited to announce the following changes and enhancements to our organization:
Effective Immediately, Jerome Samuels is the new Technical Director in charge of all Soccer operations at West Pines United. Jerome will report to the Board of Directors and make all soccer and personnel related decisions to advance the development of our Boys and Girls programs with the player development being the number one priority.

Effective immediately, The West Pines Boys program, consistent with our Girls program, has a development pathway to the DA if their skills and work ethic match that level of play. West Pines United players now are part of something bigger and have a clear path to one of the highest levels of play.

Effective immediately on the Girls side of the club, 7 new teams will be formed representing the next highest level of play after the DA. These teams will be called WPW Elite Teams (West Pines / Weston) and will be led by Master Coach Tim Miller who will lead the WPW U13 – 19 teams.

Additionally, West Pines United will have a College Placement Professional guiding our youth and parents through the college recruitment process and positioning our players to give them the best opportunity in obtaining scholarships within the different levels of collegiate play.

West Pines United will have the same curriculum and style of play through all levels and teams consistent with the DA and USA National teams. Coaches will be trained and continually advance their education in the game and they will be supervised every year, holding them accountable to the successful development of the players.
2019 -2020 Tryouts will begin May 7-9th for the Boys and May 14-16th for the girls. Please refer to the West Pines Website for full details www.westpinesunited.org

Meet Jerome Samuels, West Pines United F.C. New Club Technical Director:

Jerome is a former professional soccer player who played for Notts County FC (England), Atlanta Silverbacks (USA), Harbour View FC (Jamaica) and the Jamaican National Team at various levels. After a ten-year pro career, Jerome retired from playing and went into coaching. Jerome is currently one of the most qualified coaches in North America having obtained the USSF "A" and the UEFA "A" Licenses.
Coaching Highlights: 1 ECNL Southeast Conference Championship, 1 GA State Cup Finalist, 8-time College Conference Champions, 8-time College Regional Champions, 5-time College Final 4 Appearances, 3-time College National Championship Finalist, 1 College National Championship and 17 US National players born out of his development program. Jerome is one of the most respected coaches among the US Soccer federation and also is the Girls Technical Director at Weston and head of the DA program.

The West Pines Boys program, consistent with our Girls program, has a development pathway to the DA if their skills and work ethic match that level of play:
Effective immediately, all West Pines Athletes have a direct pathway to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (DA), currently operating under Weston FC. The alliance clubs (Weston FC and West Pines) will work cohesively to create the strongest Boys and Girls DA teams in South Florida by leveraging their best players for evaluation and training.
A depth chart of all players by position will influence the DA selection process. Girls and Boys may be invited to train in the DA while maintaining their commitment to West Pines. If selected for DA play, each player will be able to register as a part-time DA player and play up to 12 games per year in addition to playing for their West Pines Team.
Even if not selected to the DA, all West Pines Athletes will benefit greatly from the DA through Jerome’s leadership as our New Club Technical Director. All players, coaches and teams will train under the DA development model from U8 to U19 creating a consistent style of play and player development designed to have each player reach their highest potential.

Effective immediately on the Girls side of the club, 7 new teams will be formed representing the next highest level of play after the DA:
Tryouts for the WPW Teams will be open to all West Pines, Weston and other players from the market that would like to try and earn one of the 18 spots on each WPW Elite team. It is the intent for the 7 WPW team to train at the highest level and compete within the highest league possible including The US National League, US Sunshine Conference, NPL, FPL, etc. The WPW teams will travel to compete in the country’s most competitive national tournament and directly compete with the DA on a weekly basis. The intent of the WPW team is to create the highest level of development and college exposure for athletes 19 – 36 in the depth chart or players who chose not to play in the DA. Tim Miller is the WPW Master coach and will lead the effort under Jerome’s guidance. The WPW Teams and coaches for the 2019 – 2020 season are as follows:

U13 WPW Elite – Tim Miller (Master Coach for the Group)
U14 WPW Elite – Chris Lamarre (Head Coach)
U15 WPW Elite – Henry Pedraza (Head Coach)
U16 WPW Elite – Hernan Torres (Head Coach)
U17 WPW Elite – Jeff Ayum (Head Coach)
U18 WPW Elite - Diego Estremadoyra (Head Coach)
U19 WPW Elite – Carl Brown (Head Coach)

This is without question an exciting time for players at West Pines United. These changes and enhancements will have an immediate impact on the development and future of West Pines players at the same time we continue to build our presence and strength in the market as West Pines United FC.

            Thank you

            West Pines United FC
            Board of Directors

NO WAY WPU. Rather go directly to Weston. Look at South Florida FC another rec club and also said partnership, only take the U18s which leaving next season as aged out. Marketing tool thats all.

Weston knows theres nothing in Weston. WPU trying to save themselves.

FYI... if you make the Pre Academy team at Weston, you will be grouped with the top WPU girls into a WPW team.

So mixing the better players from Pre DA and DA with the ones that never came to tryouts and couldnt make it the solution. Weston parent here, hell no, i would not sign up for Weston to be with WPU players.

Thats gonna make Weston stronger... Well seems now have to double think if want to stay at Weston. This is downgrading.

Are you retarded? Or do you just play one on TV and this board? That's not collusion. You can't have collusion if you make it public that there is an agreement/partnership between two clubs to operate in a joint manner.

You can tryout wherever you want but if Weston doesn't take you because you are coming from a WPU team . . . sorry pal, you are SOL. And it's not illegal. And since this is a sharing of players and directors it is even MORE unlikely that there is anything illegal.

I tell you what dumb azz. Take your WPU kid over to Weston, tryout and when you don't get chosen for any of their teams hire an attorney and spend a ton of money proving how stupid you really are.

                          I'm all for it!!!!

You are lucky that sports teams have no parental intelligence component that goes into their evaluation of players. Because if that was the case . . . . ouch . . . your kids would have to take up knitting or PlayStation.

Your understanding of unfair and/or illegal business practices are about what you would expect for someone who cut their law degree off the back of a cereal box in a former Soviet Republic.

You are wrong on this and correct. It is not collusion but more of a violation on antitrust laws and the Sherman act. I would actually take the case if presented to me on its merits as this wasn’t a merger. There are still two separate clubs who have an agreement. If it was a legal merger, I would fully agree with you but it wasn’t.
