Try out was a bit of a farce but that is expected. Cfc encl team is basically the aresenal
Team with a few pre selected adjustments. The encl players are solid so not saying it isn’t mostly justified but the coaches were barely watching others at try outs. Anyone else
Who showed up from other beaches was marked for filling out npl.

And in the long run that kills other branches. Why play for any other branch going forward when you give the United reigns to arsenal?

CFC is smart to not take players from outside the club for these ECNL teams. Better be in the club at an early age or you will have a tough time getting on the ECNL team

The model for success is what CFC did with the 02 team. Core group from Arsenal, West and two players from Wolves. Supplemented that with players from SCP, FSA, OW, YU and Ginga. That team was formed at the time of the birth year switch and teams were breaking up anyway. First and only team from CT to win the NE ECNL conference and it shows you that to be competitive outside of CT you can't rely on a CFC branch of even one club for that matter.

It is a huge mistake sticking with just arsenal kids. Very short sided. All you are getting is kids who committed to training a certain way at a young age. They are coached well and are a good team but once they all hit 16 or so athleticism and size takes over. This method of choosing the “top team” at 9 years old will produce nothing but mediocrity long term. The best athletes in any sport aren’t determined at 9 years old. Those are simply those who develop and maybe grow early
