Clubs that cater to the top 5 percent of the players and don't care about the rest.

Which all that means is there are too many leagues and the leagues need teams to fill them, even more so NPL.

Then you clearly have not read the mission statement from most clubs. It is to promote the sport to everyone in their community. Not everyone can or wants to be in the to 5%. Does that mean they don't love the sport and enjoy playing it? How about all the other lessons team sports promotes like working together, sportsmanship, pride, discipline, friendship. One of my kids played high level travel while another played on the C team. Both of the them reaped the rewards of playing a sport they loved.

If you love it....but don't want to work hard and be a top 5% kid....join a team that plays in the inter-league....standings are not kept at all and you play for the love of the game...If you want to be competitive... you gotta work or you will be replaced.....This happens in the business world all the time buddy.

You sound like a cry baby, yuppie democrap belly aching all the time....work hard...and earn your position. this is life so tell the kids "be tough" and "to suck it up" it will make them better people in the long run well after the youth soccer career is over.

Parents only hide behind the ,mission statement and community club badge when their kid is getting cut. They cry about outsiders taking their spot while sitting on that fat ass whining instead of telling the kid to get better and work harder.

We are constantly letting potential world-class talent slip through the cracks because we have decided that a profit based approach that allows a select few to be labeled U.S.S.D.A. is a model that will win us a World Cup.
