If you have heard anything other than Yes it is, you’re talking to someone who gets preferential treatment

All clubs have politics; some just have more than others

How so? Does it depend on the team or is it the whole club

Its only funny because it is true!

The issue is you're in an area with rich westchester and connecticut people who throw money at the club or coach instead of making their kid practice. Why admit your kid is total crap when you can give a donation?

Like everything, it's only 'political' when someone's kid gets cut and doesn't make a team. Tired of hearing these entitled parents whine every time something doesn't go their way. Coach lays out expectations and kids that follow them do well. Those that don't fail and make excuses.

As long as the game of soccer is subject to discretion (referees decisions, coaching decisions, training, evaluations, ect.) there will always be politics.

Sounds like a coach or owner dad defending his son who "earned " the 100% minutes they play
