ENY ODP becoming an LISC affiliate?

I am hearing ENY ODP is about to become an LISC GDA affiliate. Does this mean players from clubs who do ODP are going to lose those kids into GDA program?

You realize soccer is pay to play. If a kid wants to pay to play gda, or ecnl, or npl or whatever, it is up to them. If u can make the team, you can pay for a spot. No program or club controls where a kid decides to try out

Isn't ODP supposed to be a 'club neutral' program? Not really right it's going to be used as a vehicle to drive players to one particular club.

East Meadow's DoC who worked for ENY used it for years to drive players into ECNL so this is no different than that apart from being official.

All this would do would prevent better talent from doing ODP. It’s not an incentive for good players.

Gda kids are teens - not brand new little lambs to the your soccer circus. I don't think the families will be forced to play gda if they don't want to. It is very expensive with lots of travel. Many don't want that or can't afford it even if they do want it

Think you are missing the point of where the real issue is. ENY ODP is selling out it's member clubs so one particular club can reap the benefits and that is wrong. Do you think this was put to a vote or given careful consideration or members were consulted?

I think if a kid wants to play for lisc or some other club, they will go do it and odp has little to do with it.

So why do they need ODP to affiliate and promote it then genius?

Clever of LISC. I’m sure one of the advantages of LISC/ rough riders joining the GDA to begin with was using the rough riders (which was supposed to be a supplemental program to kids’ primary clubs) as a feeder to LISC GDA when of age.

Umm, they DEFINITELY need it. LISC is a train wreck of a club (if you can call it that) that's trying to compete on what's supposed to be one of the top platforms in youth soccer! They have no feeder program, just a couple of teams cobbled together with kids they were able to keep from a failed Brentwood/Massapequa alliance, a few disgruntled former Fury Faithful and a couple of kids from LIJSL who did a couple of Rough Riders trainings.

They have to do SOMETHING to keep afloat!

Train wreck of a club? Why is that? Kids seem happy, parents seem happy.. the club is organized with solid training. Oh wait bc you never won anything growing up so you are all about WINNING for your kids.

They have been begging, stealing and borrowing players for 2 years now to field teams. They set a ton of unwanted records in DA last year so that is why it's a train wreck.
