As a parent I’d like to know my kid will still love her school if she’s cut.

That's all that matters and it's a question EVERY player needs to carefully consider. That cuts across most clubs, not just CFC or YU or just about anyone else. The odds of being on a roster by year 4 are pretty piss poor, like you said for many reasons. If you can't see yourself on that campus without soccer you're looking at the wrong school.

How exactly is any club "good" or suited for kids at one college level or another? What does Yankee being good for D3 even mean? How exactly does a soccer club align itself to feed one college division over another in the first place?

Isn't this far and away a reflection of the individual player's desire, commitment, dedication to task and most importantly, her individual persistence? Why do you insist that college placements and longevity on a college roster are a reflection of the club at all?

You nailed it.. NOT!! Just checked the YU site and it’s now up to three 2002s committed for 2020.
Villanova, Maryland and Iona. Looks like YU is on its way for another team to be fully committed... Not too shabby ay.

That's their last good team. It's a sheer cliff dive after that team graduates. I wouldn't be bragging about Iona from a soccer standpoint either. Also pathetic - YU talks about them getting "full athletic scholarships."

It's also funny that they've taken down their prior commits after posters called them out on how few D1 commits were actually playing.

I believe she is about the only D1 player actually playing, maybe one other. And it isn't just that YU D1 commits don't play much but that most don't even show up on their supposed rosters at all.

This is also very poor form on YU's part (talking about the 2020 commits they have so far). They want families to think they can get their kids full rides too. CFC and other clubs may brag about their commits but they don't talk money.

And how do you know those girls weren’t offered full scholarships? It’s not too hard to get if grades are good and the coach picks a player he likes a lot.
Iona as you said is a low key D1 program, for years the program suffered with bad recruits who were way under par, previous coach just cut loose middle of season, so Dangling a full ride at Iona right now is probably the best way to get a good incoming player as you filter out the previous coach’s recruits, when your building a program from scratch it’s usually how it works.
I did notice that those NY schools just hovering on the border have taken 7 YU girls so far.
