It’s actually funny when you go on Instagram and you compare the Match fit boys program to the girls program. The boys program seems to be about results and winning while the girls program is based off of hype . Maybe because the girls program stinks and the boys program seems to have success.

Interesting perspective. Looking at the girls program specifically it's almost something you could call quid pro from a parent perspective in that in spite of the program stinking as you point out, many girls still land in D1 schools - arguably only because of being paraded around ECNL events - but perhaps the parents just trade off working with a crappy organization for the chance at D1 looks.

A lot of girls join MF just because they have a chance to be showcased. Lots of player movement from U15 up from PSA/Copa/TSF/Stallions/CSA. Compare the coach list of the EDP Spring showcase and ECNL showcase. Also, if you are on a team at U14, chances of you ending up on the B team by the U17 age group are about 90% (unless you are good enough to join PDA).

My favorite social media posts are the ones where Stallions also claim the same person as an Alumni 2 days later.

Scrimmages are MF’s substitute for game time since so many kids don’t play due to their large rosters. Hey, your kid scrimmaged a few times this week—against older teams even! All good, don’t worry about the game time.

CSA coaches did not go to Matchfit. Meredith Rooney was brought in to coach the coach of 06 team. She was not affiliated with CSA or any big club but she is by far the best thing to happen to Matchfit. She is a good trainer. Yes she recruited some of those girls.

They can’t develop ... don’t bother trying

But the days ahead are going to be more difficult

Sta and csa Bergen are now in a higher league

Do you really think STA and Cedar Stars are “in a higher league”? In which universe are you living? STA begged to be put in ECNL last year because they knew it was highest competition you could find on the East Coast. Ask Tim how many ECNL coaches conventions he attended to plead his cause. Tim has done a great job building Sta from the bottom up. Sohns soccer( former owners of Sta) allowed him to do what he needed to.

That said the new ownership is all about recruiting ... bait and switch. Hiring Cryer ( who doesn’t even have an e license) makes them just like match fit I agree.

One thing for sure if your kid is not in da or ecnl you might as well stay in your town because the so called academies will

How do they get away with having 3 separate clubs in 3 locations and putting an all star team together to Play state cup and tournaments

So sleazy.

And the kids who don’t play on the all star team
Can’t play state cup

Mr Newman bought everything and cares about no one

Blah blah blah, really who cares? Personally I don't have kids at any of these places so have no vested interested other than watching you all cry like babies over things being so imperfect and cut throat and whatever else you want us to cry a river over. We get it, kids are involved and it sucks for them and parents take the brunt of a lot of it, and venting here is part of the process. But you sound way too wrapped around the politics and the problems. You mention Bucci, Raper, Vedder, Meredith, 03s 06s, MFA, CSA on an STA thread. Just so negative and you bleed negativity. I'm sure your kid is good if you are this involved, and that's wonderful (I mean that) so why not just focus on the good because then the positivity will flow into your child. Your negativity will eventually catch up with you. Be thankful your kid has that talent now go and achieve the goals for her, she needs you.

(unless you are the same person again, which more proves my point) Be positive, stop being so wrapped around the problems or the politics. It brings you down and will eventually flow into your child (reality, yes it will) Use the energy and passion you obviously have to raise your kid to the next level. We know a very capable player who is currently playing on the US U23 team who obviously did not have the physical and mental capacity to deal with his abuse either. The guy should not be allowed to be near kids to be honest
