Do the hard core kids that play high school jump over for these tournaments; or do they typically just play club in the spring?

Since you assume they are hard core, wouldn't you assume they jump over.

The great thing about club soccer and any tournament is that you and your child have the option of not attending.
Personally, the high school season was getting old and tiring. I am hoping to see better soccer and coaching. Perhaps not.
I am, however, not looking forward to the cold weather.

What great insight and adds so much value to this thread which is about GPS marketing another one of their hundreds of tournaments into a College Showcase which it is not!!
The college recruiting competition is fierce enough between DA, ISL players and the International component. No coach worth their grain of salt would seriously look at NPL players which is widely perceived as a 3rd rate league at best.

I love the "fierce" recruiting by college coaches! LOL. The only thing "fierce" about soccer in the NE are nutb*g parents who slavishly post anonymous absurdities about their kid who has been subjugated to a decade+ of mistreatment in guise of enjoyment.

Feeling a little threatened? You are so wrong but keep telling yourself that. ISL? Please. That’s a school league. Might as well throw in D1 HS too. And D2. and D3. There a good players to be found in all places. And (gasp) many play NPL and are committed to good schools of their choice.

Oh, so you don't think D1 or NESCAC soccer recruiting is fierce and competitive? Your kid will probably end up at Assumption or Westfield State, in which case you're right.
