Right the kids who couldn't make it into the regional pool still can't make it into the regional pool the only difference is they now pay a hell of a lot more and their parents still don't understand isn't very good.

Lol. You miss the point completely. She's ON your daughter's college team and sux. Do you think her parents think ODP failed to deliver? That might be the perfect example. It obviously wasn't her talent that put her there right beside your daughter, it was her resume. Imagine how far the kid might have gone if she had actual talent.

What's odp cost and what's the commitment? Their website is terrible

If you are comfortable with your choices, and comfortable with your D's opportunities you will feel no need to knock ODP or any other pathway. Your choice is good for you.

If you are uncomfortable about her opportunities, it makes sense that you would bash others choices. Cloaking yourself in the branding of another league doesn't actually make up for the fact that despite those foot skills, she is not that athletic, doesn't show well in faster more physical games, and you will soon be posting that an "Academic D3" was your goal all along.

Hear is the reality... odp aside... kids parents suck up to the club, kid gets special treatment, kid gets more pt, kid gets ball more and scores more or stops or makes more plays. Bottom line is kid gets more recognition But kid by senior year of high school has spent last 2-3 years really not growing with and against kids in the same situation and plays college for her early commit team with other kids of the same ilk. Really it's just BS in the end, don't kid yourself 99% of all kids are over rated - sry.

Let me guess. Your daughter is #1?

ODP is a resume builder that is it. You are not going to get anything out of it other than that. If you are in DAP you can't do ODP.

My son has never bothered with ODP. He's been a starter in DA for 4 years. Are you saying his resume would be "improved" with ODP on it?

A resume bullet point that is possibly helpful if you're not in DA or even ECNL. Even then, if you just participate that isn't almost meaningless. I wouldn't even put it on your credentials unless you make into regionals. At the state level it's pretty much pay to play; especially by U14 all the top players are in ECNL or DA and don't do ODP by choice or USSF edict

No, but a starter. Point is, your ODP love fest is getting old. You have been trying to pump up that program for a decade now, for reasons unknown. If there is any confusion at this point, DA has made the program obsolete, at least as it relates to its mission statement.

Not who you are going back & forth with, but for those kids who choose not to DA or ECNL (for whatever reason, because every family is different), ODP IS STILL A VIABLE PATH to get ID’d regionally and nationally which is still a huge resume builder when targeting colleges. We get it, your kid plays DA and doesn’t need it but stop being some elitest soccer snot and acting like your way is the only way.

Posters that trash this program or that program probably have a financial interest of some type in a competing program or why would they bother? Every program can be critiqued but the ones that come on too strong likely have a reason.

Bingo!!. They all work but the real point is you need a strong resume which gets built via participation in all of them, not just 1 or 2 of them.

LL is a legit ODP coach on the girls side. She has the credentials and the respect of the soccer community. If you have a child in her age group that has real potential, then ODP would be worth it.
Coaches respect in the soccer community is key and obviously ones child has to be an exceptional athlete.
