There is no money in developing these players here in the USA, players leave in free transfer they get nothing. Pay to play format will always be the way in the USA until the law changes

I predict that the boy's DA will be non-existent within 4 years and the GDA even sooner than that.
Expect to hear an announcement soon thar the GDA will allow high school soccer and will be moving to a schedule that mirrors ECNL.

How many years has the DA been in existence? 10 or 11 at least. "Off the ground" is generally a term reserved for new ventures. The DA experiment has been a huge failure and the MLS clubs know it. They're backing away.
The girls DA is on borrowed time already and click had begun to tick.

looking at FKK tryouts. We've been with OC Ecnl from the beginning and would rather our son get to a club that does not have uncertainty every year especially when he's at the older end.

Lots of mis-information on this thread
1) MLS teams are required to have Development Academy teams per the MLS Franchise agreement.
2) A number of DA teams want changes to the Development Academy
- A small number of MLS teams that actually want to develop players want a smaller 'drop the bottom teams" development academy league
- A larger number of the MLS teams don't want any youth development at all as there is no incentive. Home grown is meaningless. Why spend any money on youth development when they can just draft any player developed elsewhere, and there are no costs.
Anything else is a guess. - My guess is that BDA will cut off the bottom teams to appease the MLS clubs that want real development, and point to the MLS franchise agreement and SUM agreement for the MLS clubs that want No development and force them to continue. But this is a GUESS.
