This is so laughable and I have seen it asserted over and over again. No one is buying their spot. However, what does happen is: siblings of great players get better placement, sometimes a squeaky wheel (pia parent) gets away with it for one placement cycle before getting sent down, connected parents who have been managers for 4 years get better placement. Things like that definitely happen but no one's buying a spot. Let that go.

Buying a spot with nepotism or familiarity with family members is still buying a spot.

Maybe, but it has nothing to do with who has money which some people on this forum are obsessed with.

Also, in our experience, those players end up riding the bench and being out the next season. It is normal for clubs to get a couple of players wrong each placement, it's not something to scream about on TS.

It also depends on the club. It�s easier to get a spot at one, while difficult at others.
