That club just announced they are “all in” for ECNL.

Why would you go to another ECNL club in the Seattle area?
Brilliant move by XP.
Couple of notes: you have to be at the club for couple years paying full
freight before even being. Also, it is the for the U16 and U17 group, not
starting U13. Plus, you parents have to do fundraisers and the girls
need to "volunteer" during the summer for the ulittle camps.
With 4 ECNL in WA and 2 ECNL in OR, there is that not much travel
to pay for. Numbers work for Crossfire, so makes sense for them.
Still, pretty generous, but by U17, your dd should know where
she is going or not....

If your daughter knows where she is going does it mean she is not going to attend showcases or travel with her team? Is she not going to pay for the team training fees and just train on her own? Not sure what your last point is.
For the age groups that you pay for at Crossfire, is the cost more than the other clubs?

However, that is like 25 girls per birth year across the nation. But those girls need someone to play with. Maybe double that number to 50 per birth year and make one all expenses paid residential academy that includes schooling. Otherwise, those few unicorns per state (zero in many states...) have no one decent to play with in GDA anyway so there is no point. Even if there was a free residence academy, how many unicorns would go when they can stay at home with their families, play ecnl/not/oysa, play high school soccer, have a boyfriend and school friends, play other spots and other activities...and still go to Stanford/Duke/UCLA/UNC anyway...and still probably get national team call ups. Let’s face it, only unicorns need GDA and yet even unicorns don’t need GDA. That’s why it is failing.

GDA is a dead man walking. If the remaining top tier clubs leave; Real Colorado, Surf, and FC Dallas, they might as well close up shop.
Will US Soccer reach out to ECNL in hopes of creating a partnership? US Soccer thought it could out muscle ECNL and eventually win out, which has proven to be false given their abysmal league structure, format, restrictions, and smugness to concerns of the biggest clubs.
Your move US Soccer...otherwise, check mate.

Lots of clubs don't like DA, it's expensive and many DoC'd and head coaches don't like being told to do things differently than they have always done. And there are things I would do differently.
But sometimes you try to raise the bar, and others say no. I think boys soccer will be fine... lots of pro $$$ will ensure a professional development path remains in place. But if HS is really a deal breaker for girls... kiss US dominance in girls soccer bye-bye. The college track training isn't enough to compete internationally, and if there aren't enough motivated girls to sustain something better, oy vey.

I was wrong
I really thought GDA would win out, but I was wrong. XFire is a great club who has always had the best interest of the kids at the forefront of their decision. I would tend to follow judgement of their leadership team.

We have no elite club that was able to spurn the DA and opt out, returning to a US Club or USYS play option.
The best clubs in the US were selected and accepted to the DA in 2017 for Girls. Of the 70 to 80 clubs who escaped the US club or USYS leagues a handful of clubs have returned to their former USYS & US Club league offerings and the DA has brought in handful as well.
None of this major and seismic club movement in 2017, followed by the minor tremors of 2018 & 2019 involve any thing to do with Oregon.
We still have very average clubs well below any of the top 40 clubs in California and we would rarely crack the top 5 of Wa. We are not even relevant on the Pacific Coast forget about the Nation.
Are we really in such a sick place without an identity.
? Wothour a sense of purpose that we celebrate on kiddie forum, national level clubs that we will never play, clubs that don't know who we are, clubs that would prefer to never come to Oregon and our play local club fodder.
I wanna thank all the enthusiastic posters who have demonstrated Unfailingly and devotedly that Oregon soccer is irrelevant.
Take pride in your efforts, it impressive.
