1.ODP is misleading just in its name never mind anything else you may have been fed by it.
2.FYSA can be viewed as a travel recreational program since the vast majority of clubs only practice twice a week for a hour to an hour and a half. Even the nerdy kid playing the oboe in band knows he has to practice at least five days a week to know how to play the instrument and that is with instruction and you think a kid will know soccer from twice a week.
3. People who tell you your kid is great are making money off of you. From private trainings to phony soccer tours to overpriced recreational clubs.
4. Smart kids get free rides in Florida from Bright Futures and academic scholarships. So it is not worth playing college soccer unless you play out of state and the colleges worth going to only look at Academy and overseas players of whom all have organized in-depth practices at least five days a week.

ODP was good a few years ago but if parents especially U15 and older are thinking this is a great accomplishment think twice. Most higher level players in these age groups are not there thus your kid gets a spot. Years ago having ODP on your list of accomplishments meant something now it means little. You don't see top level club players missing games for this either, that shows you importance.
Now if younger by all means tryout and enjoy the experience of ODP.

Alabama is not the talent it use to be, this was evident from last year.

"Not 1st team talent." What a douche.

ODP = DA level athleticism with a nearly total lack of soccer IQ, USA possession and dribble soccer.

By when do the coaches truly know what players have made the A team and the B team?
Does it really take 6-8 training sessions to determine the teams?
