Thorns program is embarassing. Not a knock on the players.

Don't care what you say, playing tough teams is what they should be doing. Not playing C teams.

The older team is in last place in their bracket after two games (zero goals scored) so they will probably move down next year.
Nice to see someone who has common sense. Many teams don't even get accepted to the Vegas Showcase in the older ages. As mentioned before though, the Thorns not having any State Cup history 'hurts' them when being placed/seeded for out of state showcases.

Older team finished 3rd in their bracket after four games. 2-1-1 record in the second tier is respectable. The results help but the college looks are the key. Salmon Creek didn't have the best record but will have got great college exposure in the first tier. Good luck to all the OR girls and teams!

Thorns Academy is doing great this year. Just be happy for them.

The seeding for these tournaments is out of your control. You make the best of it and move on. There's lots more soccer to play in the future. Sometimes it's just about fun and winning is fun.

Right but when college coaches are there the weaker the opponent the better. College coaches don't look up the record of your opponent.

I bet you're right in that, they don't look at the weaker team's results. They probably don't look at either team's results because they already know that both either didn't qualify to be in the upper bracket or the team opted to play at a lower level of play. Either way, they certainly know which bracket level they are watching. Watching the highest bracket games exposes them to players who respond well under pressure, playing against the top teams and better skilled players. You really think winning in a lower bracket, playing less skilled players improves your kid's chances of impressing a college coach?

This is true. The TA is dominating in Oregon so their players will be getting more looks too. Good luck to them and all the Oregon girls.

                        They also won FWRL.

                          This is the subtle brilliance.

Which is a regional league populated with teams from Rec+ state leagues. So it's still just a Rec+ league.

So anything not ECNL is Rec+ to you?
Must be that local ECNL teams are nothing more than Rec+ level then. Look at like to like opponents in FWRL and Washington league play. GPS has crushed teams that have beat Washington ECNL teams that beat our local ECNL teams.

                              Cant have it both ways.

Has GPS even played a real ECNL team? Have they beaten one? Didn't think so. When you have, you can come back on here chirping. Until then, back to the Rec+ league.
