ECNL - The Proven Pathway to College

In modern soccer, no youth platform has sent more players to college, had more alums earn collegiate honors, and had more impact on the collegiate game. In the past two years alone, the ECNL has sent more than 2,500 graduating seniors to play women's collegiate soccer, with 2,028 in NCAA Division I programs alone. 92% of the Class of 2017 - almost every high school senior in the league - will be moving on to play at the collegiate level.

    . . . it's true

    • ECNL Class of 2016 Collegiate Soccer Players: 1,224
    • Division I: 969
    • Division II, III, NAIA: 266

How many years has it been in Oregon?

Fun fact. Those same clubs had the same numbers prior to Ecnl.

Another fun fact. The cost of what they are paying for now is double what they paid before and they are getting the same thing or worse.

Fact: Just because Crossfire in WA plays Ecnl (they've always had the best college numbers past 10 years) does not mean Oregon Ecnl teams are the same.

Sounds like a scam considering nearly all the Oregon Ecnl teams are getting destroyed and are in last place with negative goal differentials. One crossfire team has a -30 goal differential.

On top of that you are also paying 1k a trip to play some really awful teams that also think they are best in the world.

Majority of Oregon Ecnl teams can't even beat teams 10 miles from them but are losing it because they have to fly 5 hours to play the above.

Overloaded rosters are killing development and the turnover is killing the clubs. Poor coaching is also hurting the teams.

Consider that these kids aren't even getting 3k a year to play at some local school when prior teams were getting that or better without spending 15k a year and killing their chances of actually getting good.

It's not hard to get exposure to college. What's hard is getting developed when all he Oregon Ecnl parents can list is the accomplishments of other teams that are affiliated with the league.

It's literally like the doormat of the league saying they are as good and getting everything that the top team is. Never been that way and you see it now that people aren't trying out for Ecnl in this state anymore.

Just check the 14s 15s and 16s, it's getting bad.

            Technically the OP is incorrect.

USYS state association leagues have put 20x the numbers of college players then Ecnl.

What is funny is that just because my kid played in a USYS state league when so cal blues was playing teams in USYS so cal league doesn't mean my kid is as good as them or getting what they are.

It's a league. Doesn't change the club nor the bad coaching. In the case of Oregon it makes the clubs worse.

Literally all scam artist coaches and selling parents can list are facts that have nothing to do with your kid.

Albion soccer club is a national powerhouse that doesn't do Ecnl. My kids team plays them, I suppose now that means my kid is as good as their national ranked club.....

Oregon Ecnl parents are the dumbest bunch around.

Oregon Ecnl teams wouldn't even be top 10 in WA and not even close to top 20 in California.

Evidently if they get a patch regardless of the facts, they think they are as good.

It all pans out when their kid ends up getting 1k a year to play at a sub level local Oregon college after paying 10k a year.

In the meantime some random kid from a non Ecnl club gets a full ride to ASU...

Isn't it puzzling that all Oregon Ecnl parents and coaches have is facts that don't even relate you what your are getting?

Isn't t puzzling when it seems like your kid isn't playing or getting better while your team can't even get 4 goals in a season?

Isn't it weird how Ecnl is suppose to develop your kid but your coach isn't busy trying to find kids to replace yours?

Isn't it weird to think how there is always some random Oregon Ecnl parent that sells but is a crazy wreck at the same time?

I know an Oregon Ecnl coach that said it was highway robbery and it isn't even needed considering the results that we are seeing. It's no better and worse considering the demand and terrible structure on the younger ages.

It's a joke but evidently if TA can say they are part of the Timbers, Oregon Ecnl parents can say they are parent of Ecnl even though both are getting hosed in the process.

My kid went D1 without doing that league. While the same kids on fc p Ecnl teams are struggling to even get looks even at a showcase with a lot of coaches.

              Just not good.

Did you know that most professional football players 75% of them are coming from D1 schools....

I guess that means University of Montana (Oregon Ecnl) will put the same amount of players into the pros as University of Alabama (SoCal Ecnl)

Montana ODP gets beat by 5-10 goals every game in odp vs other state odp teams...but I guess because they have the same odp acronym they are just as good....

It's laughable when this state puts no more college players then they used to but instead they are still going to local schools and many underachieving.

Does it say something when nor cal teams will put 5x as many kids into college regardless of what league they play for then Oregon yet Oregon Ecnl thinks they are better by association?

Agreed and when the top clubs convert to DA, then US Soccer DA will take credit for being the #1 platform for college.

None of the top clubs in the nation are moving to GDA. A few are putting B teams in GDA just to test the water, but 95% of the GDA is made up of clubs that wouldn't be competitive in OYSA Premier.

Majority of Oregon ECNL teams would crush any local teams. That is not because of ECNL, but because the majority of the quality female players are from FC Portland, Willamette, Lake Oswego, and THUSC.

Eastside, Salmon Creek, and Washington Timbers can pull one or two good team, but the rest of the state is terrible. Bend consistently lose to FC Portland and THUSC.

It is not because of ECNL, but because we just don't have a ton of great players and teams.

Yeah but the Bend girls are all better looking.. and can ski and mountain bike. In college they will be dating the cute nice athletic boys...then marry rich awesome guys and move back to Bend with big houses on the river breathing clean high desert air and history will repeat. Soccer there is just staying fit and having fun.

False. 03s they aren't even top 2. GPS and westides 03s are better. 02s wa Timbers are better 01s is thorns academy easily. 00s salmon creek is better then both. 99s Eugene 98s was onyx.

Oregon Ecnl girls teams are getting crushed. Almost all in last place and in the negative for goals. Their second teams are getting crushed by local teams too. Doesn't help anything when you don't have a chance or it's a waste of a flight. A lot of kids don't get enough time to play either. The only team that did well was a team that played in state with choice tournaments, all but 2 of their years. Thorns academy is showing well at the young ages but it's going back to the way it's always been.

Oregon ECNL teams are not very good.

FC Portland 2001 ECNL league team barely finished in 4th place in OYSA premier league so it not a huge surprise.
