    Development of an athlete is like carving a statue. If the raw materials stink, it ain't going to work. But the statue won't carve itself.

    But still--arguing about who gets "credit" for a young collegiate athlete--the rec club that first inspired her, the classic club that trained her through the formative years of late elementary and middle school, or the HS-age club that helped her market herself to collegiate scouts--is pointless.

      That is a good question. Don't really care what those clubs put on their jerseys; the OYSA/Timbers thing stinks though.

          Thorns Academy is even smarter. They get the Alliance clubs to develop the players and then continue to have the Alliance clubs pay all their expenses even after they leave and play for Thorns.
