Timbers clubs a) don't care about girls soccer, b) don't have any good coaches, c) teach girls to play thugball bootball for the wins at U11, d) don't have decent facilities for the kids to train/play on, e) have the ugliest looking uniforms, f) have no pathway for elite athletes (Thorns Academy is not for the elite), and g) generally have very poor club management.

The ECNL pipeline is full of rust. Next year FC Portland will be watered down by their own 04s who aren't even playing top Premiere. CU will be watered down with everyone else that doesn't make GDA. GDA will capture top talent from Timbers Alliance and everyone else. You read it here first.

Plenty of good coaches at alliance clubs, but non-alliance clubs have gotten much stronger at the younger ages.

I think the whole Timbers thing can be hard thing to navigate for a board and DOC.

I detest seeing the Timbers patch on youth club uniforms, but mostly because I tire of seeing MLS teams grabbing $$ in pay-to-play youth soccer.
