The two showcases you are looking at $3k for airfare, hotel, rental car, food. DA showcases are 5 days so for two showcases will need 10-12 nights in a hotel.
Give the kid a holiday gift of a suitcase with vouchers for soccer travel.

We travel around FL for FPL and pay the same thing with all our trips. My daughter has no college coaches attend either.

GDA and ECNL play games all over the southeast but about half the year. The other half they play in State GDA or ECNL teams. The GDA and ECNL Showcases are much further and add up to a fortune.

The away travel for ECNL and GDA is Atlanta and NC. R3PL is all over NC, AL, GA,SC. FPL is every weekend and all over the State of FL. Showcase is a flight like any other showcase. Now talk value of soccer, ECNL and GDA has best teams, competition and Credibility for college coaches. No brainer if your kid can play at the level.

ECNL travels to Alabama too. They each involve significant travel. Play on the best team the player can make to get playing time. Find a club close enough for practices and a coach who will develop.

A poster said the second teams at GDA clubs fall under the GDA umbrella and rules for substitution and tournament limits to not playing three games in three days. Is that true?

Hey dildos , a pre academy team is not part of the da system. They are part of the club that has a da program. If they try to play a tournament that has a da bracket and are accepted then they follow da scheduling ... Jesus

Why would Disney form a GDA bracket if no GDA teams will be playing in it? The second teams at clubs with GDA teams should be playing any other good teams from non GDA clubs too.

People are going to start resenting U. S. Soccer if they see it throwing its weight around to have its own brackets at Disney, Casl, PDA.. for second level teams at clubs with GDA. The first GDA teams are not attending those tournaments. Other clubs might even boycott those tournaments.
