    Tier 1 Teams

At this point we can begin to assemble the list:

    1) Stanford
    2) Duke

    Petitioners:

    1) South Carolina College Cup team and best in SEC. Needs a good showing against Stanford to be invited.
    2) UCLA Invited with a solid win tonight.
    3) Princeton Will need a big win to be included. May even need a good showing against Duke to convince the doubters.
    4) UNC ACC Champ and a #1 seed. Can whine they were upset. 2 wins over Duke. Petition denied.

Maybe a top 20 team ...no more.

College cup teams are identifying themselves.
Yes...by playing 2 frauds in PSU and Baylor. Dukes road to the CC must be the easiest in a while ..Stanford same...

PSU should be embarrassed and the u-20 wc selectors should just resign.

                  Why should they resign?

Even an old BC grump like you should admit that playing FSU as a #4 seed is a worthy game. Folks here are more of the opinion of junking this ponderous 64 team debacle with single elimination and playing with 4-6 teams round robin style to determine the champion. #1 sends are supposed to get the easiest road in. What a waste of 4 games. None of those teams had any business playing for a National title.

                      8 Team Round Robin

                      Just using RPI

                      Stanford
                      UNC
                      South Carolina
                      Duke
                      UCF
                      Texas A&M
                      WVU
                      UCLA

We had the four college cup teams

                      Stanford
                      South Carolina
                      Duke
                      UCLA

                      Were these four any better?

                      Princeton
                      PSU
                      Baylor
                      Florida

                      Not really

Why waste all that time and $$?

Has South Carolina become the Akron of girls soccer? I understand the top three, but what do the girls do with a degree from SC?
