Sure, and in other it's ranked xxx and another yyy.

More importantly it's not just competing with public universities but public AND private. It has robust application numbers because in-state students are desperate for a quasi affordable education and it's the best public university in a very small state. Out of state tuition is nearly $53K. That puts them into competition with private schools, many of which are stronger academically and reputation wise.

Much harder if you're in state - college is so frigging expensive these days so more kids are applying. I've been told this by our HS counselor and a UCONN person. Out of state is almost easier so they can keep their state diversity numbers up.

You're 100% correct. The cost of college is ridiculous these days. More difficult if you live in state. Out of state is easier because they (uconn) want that out of state tuition money plus the state diversity numbers.

It's easier to get into CA school from out of state vs in state as well. Local schools are flooded with CA applicants but out of state kids pay tens of thousands more. More out of state students helps them balance their budgets. Schools will claim they want a representative student body, but really it's about the bottom line

UCONN play crppy long-ball soccer. Boot it to the fast kid. Just not a great model for the game and not fun to watch.

You obviously have not been watching the games this year. This year compared to last is very different. They have the mid fielders that can carry the ball this year. The 2 CB's do keep kicking long and I would wish they stop but they build now a days. Finishing on the other hand is still an issue. The starting team is often 4 or 5 freshman and 2 sophomores. Their quality is better than the upperclassmen who have been benched. Next year they have 2 incoming Canadian national team members coming in, one being a goalie and MF so the team will be even younger if they can make starting lineup. They have been in every game right to the end, but not finishing is killing them. Everyone can understand that. Finding that absolute finisher is nice to have.

Right that's 3, none in CT. Do you live in one of those states?

No but you said show you a better deal. So a gave you three state schools that were much better educationally and similar cost.

You never qualified it with it had to be in CT. If that's the case that's a very low bar. State schools in CT are mediocre

UCONN is the one and only state school with a decent national reputation. Because of it's cost more and more instate kids are applying. People can't afford college any longer (not that $30K is cheap but it's not $50K+).

You are correct, sir. UConn is dead in the water within five years if they don’t find their way into the ACC. Women’s hoops will be the only program standing between them and being a low to mid major across the board.
