Doubtful any Fall Soccer in Oregon (Club or HS)

Here are the communities cancelling Pop Warner football for the fall Albany, Corvallis, Dallas, Independence, Jefferson, Lebanon, Monmouth, Sweet Home, and surrounding areas. Mid Valley League.

The Governor, OHA, ODE & OSAA are making announcements this week that will shut it all down for sports this fall.

    Bummer.

The mental damage this is doing to kids is substantial. Why are we punishing kids because adults live such unhealthy lifestyles?

This virus is bad for unhealthy people. Healthy people who eat well and exercise and minimize stress have very little to worry about.

We need to protect the people, even if they make unhealthy choices. Just because someone eats fast food and doesn't exercise or smokes or drinks doesn't mean we don't have make sacrifices ourselves to try to save them. Come on. Every life is important.

Making our kids sacrifice their own mental health for others is a good life lesson. This country was built on this kind of sacrifice.

The greatest generation didn't play organized youth sports like we do today and it seemed to workout pretty good for them. Those kids were just raised by their parents.

Not everyone that is in the high risk group is there because of unhealthy choices. I’m pretty sure a child with cystic fibrosis, people with cancer, and elderly folks could be making completely healthy choices but are still at risk 🙄. It’s our responsibility as a society to help protect those that are immune compromised.
I would love for school and sports to resume in the fall but we must look out for the best interest for our community. Kids can still get out and socially distance and get exercise and socialize.

Nobody cares about the kids. Let’s throw all our kids under the bus to save granny. It’s not her fault she’s 97 and can’t get out of bed at the home. She’s a sitting duck.

If you are not willing to sacrifice 2-3 years of your child’s life to protect the weak and frail, than you need to change your priorities. Cause guess what. After this, there will be another virus and you could be looking at no more sports ever.

It’s is a small price to pay to save obese, cancer patients and the elderly.

Thatbis such a ridiculous statement. There have been a lot people just like what you have described, that have been severely affected by this virus. There is more to it than just that. Conversely, there are plenty of ignorant people like yourself, who THINK they are healthy and safe, and then end up swallowing a ventilator. Do everybody a favor, shut up, wear a mask, and subjugate YOUR wants for everybody needs. Jesus...

I’m willing to give up 4-5 years of my kids lives if it will save the weak and frail. They deserve to live even if they made choices that got them into the compromised weak state. My kids will appreciate this or I will teach them.

May God rain blessings down on you. Giving up your kids to help others is very saintly.

Also had high rates of racism and entitlement.

Greatest generation = a bunch of bull****.
