If you were bright you would recognize these kids are getting scholarships and playing soccer at great schools. How the school decides to fund the scholarships (academically or through athletic scholarships) doesn’t matter. These kids are playing college soccer at great schools.

As someone else mentioned, there are no scholarships, either athletic or merit based, at the Ivies. That means the kids going to Cornell, Yale, and Columbia are not getting scholarships. All aid is need-based only.

Can someone please tell us how important it is for girls to play ECNL and DA? What other club in the area rivals this list?

This is a great accomplishment but those decisions were made long ago and the landscape was different back then. GREAT Accomplishment Nonetheless as I know some of those kids. But the reality is that it will not be repeated. Congrats again!

I hope this soccer landscape settles down cause all the BS conversations are nauseating.

There is grant money that can be earmarked to use for certain athletes at the Ivies. I’m not saying that is definitely the case in this situation, but it’s not all need based that is for sure.

What is it that you don't understand? Ivies do not give scholarships in any way, shape, or form. Not to the very best students and certainly not to athletes - the very best or otherwise....nada, nicht, rien, nothing....

Today is a great day to celebrate the many athletes that signed NLI from all clubs including Sunrise - Coach Juan had a vision and has worked with many of these players in Broward since they were 10 years old on training and preparing for the entire soccer process for today and the future.
Instead of being nasty why not congratulate these players and coaches on years of hard work both on and off the field to accomplish this as they finish their last year of club soccer and prepare for the next level of education and yes playing soccer in college.
Congratulations to all the athletes that signed today.

When the moderator clears up some space, I will type in all of the Stings Major College Signings as of today. I don't want this site to crash. As for now share your clubs signings if you like. 7 Sting players from Heritage alone (LSU, UCF, Cornell, Lynn, Colombia, Yale, American).

I doubt parents that have sent their kids to American Heritage have to worry about Sunrise getting their kids any $$$ from an Ivy school (athletic, academic, etc.). They already paid $100,000 or more to get them out of H.S. The cost of an Ivy education should be no problem for them.
