If the woman want to get paid more they could also choose a field of employment that pays more. In the end they make a choice. Most seem to understand that. All the woman aren't complaining...

The World Cup is their only big payday. A World Cup once every 4 years will not a career make. Their soccer league needs to work. Good luck with that. Never seen a game. Have no plans to, especially with the snotty divas.
So....the women want socialism. They want to get paid more than they are worth and regardless what they contribute. I don't want to be an ass by saying that, but the women's world cup doesn't bring in the same money and their league brings in less. Where is the money going to come from?
Paying them a salary instead of a per game basis makes little sense. What is the benchmark? How do you decide who gets more or who gets less? Since you don't know how many games you will play in the coming year, how do you decide how much you should be salaried? And, they want more. Where will that come from? Since Rapinoe is a raging liberal, I assume that she would take less so that the rest can get more?

If the US government is going to pay more....even if not....then the players need to show respect....hahaha...say thanks to the President instead of "I am not going to the f-g white house".

Even though this is a National Team, the US government has no role. FIFA and US Soccer run this, and it is private.

You’re wrong. For the past several years, the USWNT has been out-earning the men.

US government plays no role in this. And Trump should be focused on running the country instead of making stupid comments.

Correct on the US government. Also, based on wins and titles, the US women are making more. however, per game they still make a little less. That said, if the men’s team brings in more money then maybe they should get more. The difference per game is small...I think....3000 vs 5000....so that would be easy enough to make equal.

I am against salaries i.e. not based on games played.

As for Trump, I suspect that if Rapinoe didn’t decide to make soccer her political stage then Trump would say very little. Instead, she opened her ‘f-g’ mouth. WE ALL might be better off just playing the game and protesting on her own time instead of during everyone else.

It’s not just wins and titles, the USWNT is earning more revenue $ than the men

Trump says too much about things he knows nothing about, which unfortunately includes running the country. Does the President really need to respond to an athlete’s comments? Seriously, does this idiot not have more important matters to attend to? And apparently, Rapinoe can chew gum and walk too. While she was making her comments, she also was winning a World Cup.

All depends on the numbers you look at and it's always easy to pick and chose your stats to help your case. However, this WC had the highest viewership ever so in theory the pie will be bigger and they will get a large piece of it. The women filed the suit intentionally before the WC, knowing they would probably win and get public support behind them. But they're playing under the terms of their prior contract, one they agreed to. They need to negotiate a new deal if that's what they want. Other equal treatment issues like fields played on, travel arrangements, health insurance etc should be equal.

Yes he looks rather foolish admonishing the captain of a championship team, one that has huge public support. But looking foolish is a daily thing for him.

They are arguing for equal treatment, but then they constantly slam the men’s team claiming they are better and deserve to earn more. Which is it?

No one has any doubt the our Prez acts like a fool every day. Our WNT Captain using the word Puto in any context is sad regardless. A lot of impressionable folks watching.

I don’t think puto is even close to the word she said. She was asked months ago whether she thought they’d go to the WH if they won and in true troll fashion someone dragged that response out. Too bad they didn’t hype up everything she has said as much, but small minds only hear what they want to hear.

Another bad penalty call by refs. I dod not see enough contact there, and Alex Morgan did her typical acting job. I am disappointed in how every important US game the refs were involved. I wanted to see the winning team earn it. Lavelle had a good goal, but the penalty goal changed the complexion of the game.

It’s not “slamming” anyone to ask for equal pay. I guess you go to work making a 1/4 of what everyone else at your company makes while doing better work and don’t complain? You must be a real sheepie.

Sorry but that's a penalty (but I agree a few of the others earlier were not). While she didn't know Morgan was behind her, her boot has no business up at shoulder height. Not intentional, but still reckless, still made contact. It's a foul.

Didn't change the complexion of the game because the Netherlands weren't doing much all game either way. Except for one flurry at the end of the first hand, I don't think they even had a touch in the area.

All three big tournaments that wrapped up this weekend were over before they began. FIFA is a joke.
