Zero reason for any team to pay that much for a tournament, only 2 weeks into this season's training. Don't be an idiot and piss away money. A friendly at the beginning of the season is the better way to go.

Sorry, it's about quality training and being in shape. Fitness is equally important. That's the first thing that any good trainer will concentrate on is fitness and if you are just starting that now, you are already behind the squads that have been concentrating on that since July like the other post mentioned.

When the body is tired, you make mental errors or get hurt.

That's correct. Unfortunately for most here they are at the wrong place so they never get the chance to play at Nationals and the season ends around the end of May.
