They should have read the room. They lost most of the quality DA teams to ECNL and they are most likely losing the quality players from the rest to the same. There has to be a viable alternative to ECNL that doesn't include ridiculous travel, promotion/relegation per team, and a better rule structure. GAL is obviously not it.

Why do so many people promote promotion/relegation? It promotes the win at all costs mentality that most say is detrimental. Nobody else does it, players are promoted or relegated in most youth academies around the world, not teams. It works in pro sports, but don’t get it in youth at all; promotes winning over development in very real way.

That was big news? This commish has her work cut out for her. Lost so many good teams. Lost so many good players to USYS and ECNL from the remaining teams. Has to try and lie to the costumers that this is still an elite league. Fall soccer we be nothing like last year. They are trying to sell the older girls that are US players that were part of DA as their marketing plan. Those kids are gone soon. It will be a challenge to get top talent being the third league in the country. The showcases will not be as strong as DA. College attendance at the younger ages will be an issue. Budgets will send them to ECNL travel. Basically playoffs will be the same 4 clubs with multiple teams in the semis.

No player worth their salt left a DA team for the USYS because they thought the USYS was superior. They left for convenience or more playing time.

Probably why she isn't taking over until August. She needs to make sure she has a backup plan in place

When teams charge just as much for GAL as they did for DA and say the competition will be better but some of the best teams left, they added teams that don't excel and you know players are leaving.....

Just not true. Plenty of kids left DA/GAL for USYS teams. Very good players at multiple clubs.

True. Most of the top talent left for ECNL. The rest stayed because they keep telling themselves EDP is beneath them. Let’s see how it goes

Wait! Didn’t some really good players at multiple age groups go to Dynamite from STA? I know CSA (both Mon and Bergen) girls left to USYS. Long Island is a massive exodus of girls. NYSC lost a couple to USYS as well. New England market is a disaster!!!!

On top all these clubs lost kids to ECNL.

I get they have to sell this as a elite league to make more money and pay for these ridiculous DOC salaries but it’s just not right to try and scam parents. Just sell it for what it is. There is an actually a market for GAL. It’s just not elite.

Not at my GA Club. We stayed but really should tell it as it is. None of our players left are making the A team rosters at ECNL. Including my daughter. I’m giving GA a chance but my eyes will be wide open for different reasons. We also lost girls to USYS so let’s stop with saying PDA white is worth it or not. Most of these kids would start on our team.

So did ours, seems like both ECNL and USYS benefited from DA demise....way to make two leagues better while weakening your product. At least no DA players are leaving for lowly ECRL. That league is garbage.
