MS ran extra practices and MO had winter clinics plus any serious player did private coaching and lots of wall ball

The reality is that 1/2 of players playing D1 come from ECNL, the rest from other 2 main leagues former DA and USYS. So plenty of players not ECNL.

In P5 they make up 2/3rds.

So stop trying to live through your kids and brag about which club your kid plays for and how they are soo great. And on the opposite end stop complaining about every club your kid doesnt play on.You crazy Parents need to get your own lives. Soccer is a game thats all nothing more. Really??? Name 3...and not players that spent their entire youth soccer years playing ECNL, except for the last year when she followed her club to GDA, that doesn't exist anymore.

That is not reality. Where did you get your numbers of percentage other than your own guessing. For P5 conferences go look at any given roster or commitments from the last 3 years. For an incoming class of 8 the average is 6 players from ECNL and the rest are International. Go look at the clubs in NJ. Compare there commitments for the last 3 years. An ECNL team of 20 will have every Senior committed to either very highly rated D1/P5 programs or colleges of their choice. Go look at non-ECNL clubs and compare. The numbers don’t lie. It matters what club, team, league you play. Anyone who says differently is not being honest. Sure, a good player can play anywhere but that does not work for top players who want to compete in very competitive leagues in college. College coaches will pick an ECNL player over Non-ECNL player 9 out of 10 times.

You are correct all leagues should shut down and all players play for 1 of the 2 ECNL clubs in NJ. Anything else would be uncivilized.

And anyone who cannot play for an ECNL team should not play soccer at all. They are, however, feel to fee the ECNL club teams' practices and games to clap and cheer.

Michigan which had one of the top recruiting classes in 2019 had a whopping 1 ECNL player as the rest were DA, USYS or Int’l.

Georgia only had 3 of 7 as ECNL players in their latest class.....

But sure 9 out of 10 country wide......amazing how brainwashed some are.

Um you need to look at that again...
Out of the 8 players in that class, 2 were international, 2 were USYS, 2 were ECNL and 2 were-"played ECNL U14, U15, U16, U17 and played their final year for blah-blah in GDA". So unless your kid is going to play in GDA (which doesn't exist anymore) give it a rest...

If your looking at it from percentages; the vast majority of players in D1 are either ECNL, DA & International players. However way you wish to spin it the chances of a player in another league getting noticed are slim to none. My daughter attended camps/clinics and was identified. The coaches were honest and said they now needed to see her play in a more competitive environment against competitive teams. They were making it clear her league as well as tournaments that her club were playing was not competitive enough. Once she made the change to ECNL and informed the coaches they immediately responded and came to watch her play in ECNL college showcases along with an bundqnt amount of other schools that never came to her non-ECNL tournaments. She then committed within 6 months. End of story! Go look at the commitment lists of ECNL Clubs vs. non-ECNL clubs.
