Rebranding? Sounds like a JF is taking his toys somewhere else.

Also heard SC is involved with this project. Any truth to those rumors?

Rumors have it NEFC has been purchased by Surf can anyone confirm? What’s happened to NEFC being the best? That ended quick Cannon and his crew jumping ship.

Where does one hear these rumors?

The whole of NEFC or just partners in RI?

This could be a great idea. Rather than diluting everything in little RI, we are now seeing two clubs with existing strong players and strong coaches come together and offer a proper competitive environment. Having a club like Surf, with huge resources behind them, gives them even more leverage.

About time this happened in RI. Hopefully now our best players can finally have what they need here in RI, rather than needing to spend hours upon hours travelling to Lancaster or Marlboro.

Cowboys based on what exactly? From where I am standing, GPS RI and NEFC Southeast have operated good programs over the last couple of years. Now they are putting their coaching and talent together.

Surf look like they will be one of the biggest clubs in New England in six weeks time. There's your leverage.

Leagues? Who knows what is better now? You have GAL, ECNL, NPL, EDP, NEP and CCL in a small region like New England. They all have their flaws, and for HS ages, leagues are seven games. Tournaments and practices far more important than leagues, purely based on volume.

Is there a press release about any of this, or is it all still "hearsay"?

They will play NEP as they snuggled up to Seacoast to get around the NEP entry rules. Also heard they will play DPL, which is a bulls**t new league with very little info. Sorry, little RI still has no pathway as top girls teams are ECNL and that means traveling to Lancaster or Taunton. Who the heck knows what is going on with MLS‘s replacement of DA.
