The did fold, the only thing they tried to do was attempt to run a league.

So the jolly boy weekend trips out of state will still take place without any teams.

      Future.

Head to the USYS Regional Champions home page and then the USYS National Championship home page to read what many Oregon Teams have done in recent history at these contests. You will be able to view the local clubs that have actually won the Regionals, competed at Nationals and even a that few have won Nationals.

After reading through all the results of the many teams from Oregon that have gone to Regionals and Nationals please tell everyone on the forum how many Regional Titles or trips to USYS nationals the following clubs have made in the last 30 years.

        THUSC
        LOSC
        SouthSide &
        WUSC

        Please post ASAP

        Thanks in advance

Oh yeah but it was just one game.... Even the USYS Nat'l champs have a bad day.
Congratulations...now get over it. A 1-0 victory is by no means grounds to thump your chest about being "the best in the world". Funny thing about Soccer it isn't always the best team that wins.

If you don't know that you truly are a rookie.

So are you going to join everyone in the present, or just keep trying to rekindle greatness from years past. That is kind of sad for your kid that you just keep reminding them what they once were.

Nobody cares who wins games in a showcase. The focus of the coaches is making sure the players get exposure, playing time, and a variety of chances to show there skilks. I find it hard to believe you actually feel OK bragging about a showcase win.

The fractured and confusing landscape the upstart OPL had created, is no more.

All of our club teams will now register for state wide league play under the USYS banner, basically back to where we started.

We humbly wave the white flag and look forward to being part of the USYS family again.
A year later - are we happy? Is the landscape less "fractured and confusing"?

The OPL hangers on, could not unify the state under the idea of being part of the OYSA, they instead opted for other acronym league for girls.

                    It's truly sad and disgusting.

ECNL arrives and OPL closes? Coincidence? Tom?

Got nothing to do with USDA.

                            CU/FCPDX/Thorns all applied for USSDA.

Thorns did and have already been declined. The other 2 didn't bother as it's clear that USSDA will be 2nd tier to ECNL for at least the next 5-10 years.

If anything, it's more fractured, if not more confusing.

Less than 10 years ago there was one state-wide league with all teams in it. Now you have:

                                USSDA boys
                                ECNL girls
                                Thorns Academy girls
                                OYSA
                                FWRL
                                NWCL
RCL (for a few Vancouver teams)
                                Timbers Alliance
                                ODP
and probably a dozen other things, most of which are simply segmenting the market and driving up costs.
