Warde? Please. You must be from Ffld because there is no other reason for that choice.
ND Ffld will be lucky to make states this year.
M and S are always a top 5 crap shoot.

Our coach is one of those useless English teacher coaches with no clue and no plan but I'm just trying to figure out how big an epic fail he is. Summer lifting is one of those measures.
Weightlifting? For teenage high school soccer players? Oy vey.
How about simply playing soccer as a means to improve?

Yes weightlifting. You apparently have no clue.

          LL list is absurd!!
Ridgefield lost 8 starters! And probably 99% of its scoring. Their 3 returners are all defense. They will be solid but not in the top 5 conversations.

Suffield??? They will look good because of their weak league, but like last year, they will get smoked by the first real team they face, 3-0.

Warde hasn't lived up to its own oft-repeated hype since 2014, and they will fold again this year, may not make the FCIAC tourney.

I'd add Darien, Wilton and Newtown to replace these three.

Ours has always had it, even though it's only once/week, on top of "captains" practices. At our school it has to be supervised by a trainer so that might have been an issue at the op's school.

Notre Dame of Fairfield is going to be bad this year. They lost their entire core to graduation. They'll be lucky to go .500. Past success does not predict future performance. How the heck is St. Joe's still in L?? All private schools that recruit players should have to play LL every year. They have an unfair advantage over town schools. There should also be conference that are 100% compromised of private schools. That would involve more travel for games but it would be much fairer. Public schools should play public schools only.

Enough of that tired trope. It's not going to change. It's the job of the public schools to beat the others, and for the most part they do. For every St Joes there's ten other schools that get their butts handed to them

As for St Joe's unwillingness to move up well, that's all ego driven/desire to win a title. They easily can play up and be highly competitive. Would they win the title? Maybe not. But they could hold their heads up high knowing they played to toughest competition they could

I wouldn't say Ridgefield will be horrible. Yes they lost starters, but every school does. Gbury lost mc and other starters and still repeated. Some schools just have a better feeder program than others.

Warde I do agree will suck. They don't even really play soccer. They do have one talented kid. The rest are a bunch of hacks lead by a massive dbag of a coach

CIAC determines where you fit class wise based on size( they should be an M school so they are already playing up. same goes for ND they move up from S based on the last 2 years

Masuk is iffy, very strong up top but they lost their other strength < the Defense in its entirety including the goalie
Pomp and Barlow will be strong as usual
ND lost good players everywhere and is moving up in class
St Js lost a scorer but still have the best player in class

Yes we all know that. But winning gets you moved up to the next class. You can also request to be placed elsewhere, it just might now always be approved

HS soccer isn't easy to predict. A team like Staples has muitple high level club players and if they gel could be very dangerous. For my money I'd look for the team with a few ECNL kids that can boss the midfield and a good GK. A strong goalkeeper levels the playing field in HS soccer in a big way.

Fun starts this week and we'll know in a month who looks good!

Barlow graduated a few key players and 1-2 left. Only a few good ones coming up the ranks.

Pomp good as usual? I think you haven't seen the team in years. They will absolutely be bad this year. No top players.

nd could play two down and give pomp a run for their money

seen them every year for the past 8 years- that enough? they always have enough to be dangerous- ND is in trouble and may have problems with weston
