Weston Doesn't Develop they look for the next one up, then the bottom 3-4 players are dropped to premier teams and so on and so on. Next year the same thing.

Yes, that's the point of the academies. To bring in the best players.

South Florida clubs are all the same. Development is secondary. Kids have to train on their own to supplement clubs and coaches major deficiencies. Development takes time and talent. 2 to 3 1 1/2 hour sessions will not cut it.

Weston gotten better because of imports came from other teams. Other team gotten worst because of exports shipped to Weston or other teams.

Sunrise beat the same 05 Weston team last year. and based on the roster and watching the girls in action....development not taking place. Define development first....

My point is all clubs are the same....import and export business where we need to focus on.

Agree, no clubs are properly developing players, its all a business especially in South Florida, selling you a dream and where clubs are really focused is in the imports from other clubs that keep their current squads stronger and keep them competing. Weston just favors because more and more players prefer staying there for the time being at least.

To all of you who might be in agreement with the implication in this response: you truly are self-absorbed idiots. While the highest level of anything is there to recruit and play with the best talent out there, there also is a recognition among most anyone of good reputation in whatever sport / activity in which they are engaged that their responsibility does not stop at the ability to recruit stage. Almost uniformly - the best in their sport, or whatever it is they do, understand that once they bring the best or top level talent, they have an obligation to develop that talent. It cannot be that any club, team, etc... hopes to rely solely on bringing in top level talent and hoping that they get training elsewhere, as they did before joining that club, team, etc., so that that talent, and thus the team, club, etc., remain at the top.

Relying on others to do your work really means that you appreciate and embrace your deficiencies of being a good trainer, coach, motivator, etc. If the players were adults, there may be a more valid argument that it is expected that the managers will not have as much influence on training and raising the level of play of the players. However, the players at youth programs around the State and country are just that - youth. They all need to be trained even those who continue to be considered the best of everyone. Failing to train those players - is a failure of leadership and a failure to those players. Even the best players deserve much more. They all deserve to be trained - and do not deserve a bunch of grow As#ed men neglecting their most basic responsibilities and relying on others to properly train the kids who will replace those who pledged loyalty and commitment to those grown As#ed men who have the not the knowledge nor the skills - and certainly not the proper motivation - to train the kids.

I would fire all the coaches who come in and hope to solely rely on others to do their work. It is pathetic. But what would you expect from the “never has been” who want to pretend that they were something and that they are even more of something than they actually are now. Pathetic.

It's been stated on here many times. The elite players and I'd argue even very good players are NOT developed by any club. They work on their own one way or another. Any player that does that will develop faster and more comprehensively than a player that relies solely on a clubs training.

So, clubs recruit those players that work on their own because they are better.

That is different - Clubs and coaches should still develop, coach, mentor, train, etc. everyone they bring in. I’ll tell me old college coach that - hey man, you are the hook. These days, coaches are expected only to recruit and not develop or train.

He’ll love that approach for sure.

By u16 kids should have all the soccer fundamentals and need little actual training, other than tweaking their skills. If they aren’t training on their own not much a coach can do at this point.

Obviously. That goes without saying. They still have a job to do and will certainly impact a number of players. Just don’t expect them to “develop” a player in their own. Unless they are coaching at a residential academy, coaches don’t have enough contact hours with players. It falls on the player.

I would argue that at younger ages the best thing a coach can do is inspire and foster a passion for the game. So, the player can train and play on their own cause they love the game.

Those players will be the best, and they will always be better than players that don’t put in the time. They will be recruited to fill the spots of lesser players.

Did you really want to argue about this? It’s widely accepted at this point, by pretty much everyone...except maybe you.
