That's not true. Look at All Division last year. There are teams lower ranked with more all division players and higher ranked teams with less.

    And there is voting.

Were you present at the meeting this year or any past year? Or is this what someone told you?

All division is determined just as noted by previous poster. Slots are based on team points from the season. These are not voted on. Change this year was that number is not reduced by All State. That’s what happened in previous years.

Spot on. Teams are given slots based on where you finish in the standings for all division. The coach will put the players that they want up for all division without any voting. Then for all state the coach will have to lobby for any particular player they put up. Usually the coaches will agree with every other coach on there selection unless it effects the chance of their player getting the award. So yes favoratism could come into play. I hope it doesn't. But I'm pretty sure it does. Also for all state purposes at least one all state first team has to be allotted for a D2 player. Could be more but has to be at least one.

You are a jackass. Go prepare your daughter’s consolation speeches as you have obviously prepared her for nothing more than a long and sad life filled with excuses about why others were given awards, or jobs or promotions instead of her. Sign her up for therapy now... you can probably get a two for one deal. Loser.

In a program that everyone knows should have been (both last year and this year) in D1..

The point is without some cross over games or as suggested earlier an end of year all-star game with the top players from all divisions, you don't know either way. You have some quasi-data points (ie. When TG moved up to D1 a couple of years ago or D2 players that go on to play D1 college), but you can't go by stats (except in D1) and hardly anyone (let alone parents) see enough HS soccer to make an expert opinion.

The whole system, NSCAA national/regional and PROJO/RIGSCA all-state and all-divisoin are a product of simplicity - allocate based on size and then locally under the assumption better teams had the better players and to the winners go the spoils (assuming they have paid, make the effort to show up, etc.) Add the political dynamics of who has paid, who has influence, and who makes the effort to lobby.. It's a flawed process that generally gets it reasonably okay but is going to have bias and errors for sure.

Why doesn't RI have a soccer State Championship where the winners from each division
play eachother (or top 2 from each division enter into tournament). Doesn't basketball do that?

Because D2 and D3 would get absolutely crushed! Duh

My daughter will need therapy because she isn't a kiss ass? She will have a long sad life because stats aren't everything?
I think you need to look in the mirror regarding therapy. You are getting all hyped up about RI HS Girl's Soccer. LOL Who needs the therapy?
Did your little girl not get an award and you are unhappy? lol

You are correct, as proven by Smithfield getting a certain two players on the All-State list this year.

Yes, but two points. In a team sport of 5, a really outstanding player can make a lower division team competitive, although on the girls' side it's essentially been the D1 team (and mainly LSA) and on the boys' side, the same (although the D2 champ Shea won it all - they were essentially a team that could have played in the top of D1 - like the Moses Brown boys soccer last couple of years).

Second, RIIL sees this as a way of making more money..there would be no excitement on the girls side in soccer plus the season constraints. Heaven forbid though RIIL play an all-star game though..
