    Jeez

You guys managed to take a thread allowing people to post positives from their weekend like, "congrats to ______" or "just saw a nice game between _____ and ____"; and you turned it into another crank-fest.

Can anyone just enjoy a weekend of kids playing soccer without turning every thread into a referendum on why their child's soccer path is the best? [which is itself a frequent proxy for measuring your success as a parent]

Try enjoying youth soccer for youth soccer's sake.

Congratulations to all the teams that played in the tournament. A little sad that the summer tournaments will soon be over. Good luck to all the teams playing in Bend next weekend!

Well put. We even managed to get in some complaining about the weather.
I bet we'd be a lot of fun at a party.

As far as Mt Hood, many more would've been upset if it had been cancelled. Not an ideal situation but this way, each individual can decide wether they'd like to play or not.
GPS isn't any different than any other club playing in OYSA. Nothing to see here.

Fact of the matter is that Mt. Hood Challenge is a rec-level tournament. There were no teams there that were good enough to play in OYSA Premier, let alone ECNL, GDA, DA, FWRL, etc. Total crap money grab.

Not a top tournament but some of the top teams from OYSA Premier were there. Local summer fun with full knowledge that it isn't Surf. It only grabs your money if your team chooses to sign up.

Seriously. The same people would b*tch if it had been canceled. There's no winning with the whiners.

Errr ummmmm, 2004 Surf Cup Black division had Thusc Selenium in it. If Mt Hood Challenge is a money grab, then the fourth and fifth divisions of Surf Cup are beyond money grabs, they are outright thievery, although mom and dad can brag that little Suzy played at Surf Cup. LOL

Facebook and Instagram are better places for that. This place is not well.

In spite of Mike's email verbosity and everyone's comments about it being "rec level", Mt. Hood Challenge attracts good teams from out of the state and premier level teams within the state are representing more than ever, from what I could see. Much better competition than Beaverton Cup and PCU's summer thing.

And it's extremely well-run. Kudos to them.

This speaks for itself what people think about the MHC:

                        2014 - 629
                        2015 - 557
                        2016 - 464

Is it the Mt. Hood Challenge, or Mike? Here are the numbers for Capital Cup

                          2014 - 197 Teams
                          2015 - 160
                          2016 - 165
                          2017 - 133

Bad fields, bad parking, bad competition so no surprises really. Not to mention that youth soccer is declining in general due to the high costs.

Bash bash bash. These days it's the biggest & best tournament in Oregon. No, it's not Surf but you posters even bash on Surf Cup now. A lot of bitter whiney posters on here. Enjoy the beautiful game.
