...and I did not mean low GPA, I meant players that he really wants. The kid is the real thing and many programs are looking at him

NEU lucky to land these players. MK is a fantastic player. Could play at any D1 college.

If NE ends next season like they ended this season, there be more questions asked by administration. Winning of course fixes everything.

If he is fantastic and could play anywhere maybe he should be looking at a program that has a shot at winning a national championship like ND, UCLA, Virginia or Georgetown - 4 of the top 10. Why a team that barely made it into the top half of college soccer? Is NE a done deal?

Not all players receive the guidance needed to help them evaluate all of their options and make the decision that is best for them.

There is more to choosing a college than sports - academic fit should be the top priority, but there are also financial considerations, course of study, proximity to home, etc. and on the sports side there is the likelihood of getting playing time, liking the coach, teammates....a team's record should be less important than all of those things.

NEU won their conference Championship the year before. No team in the CAA has won the conference tournament 2yrs in a row. Delaware won 3 yrs ago and the following year, had injuries and a bad season. Yes, winning is what it is all about. Duh.

NEU co-op program is financial attraction to many students.

Good points however, playing time is a given as this player "could play at any D1 college". Players with that billing usually end up playing for top flight programs that have more athletic scholarship money, larger endowments and could match and exceed the course of study at NU. If proximity to home was important then UConn's honors program would be a solid option. NU is a fine choice academically.
