It's not that Bayside is a bad club, they are just small and can't compete with the mega clubs who have larger player pools to select from.
But once again you fail to miss the earlier posters point that Bayside's player pool is not really limited. Anyone, anywhere is free to tryout for a club team. If Bayside provided a better product with better success, they might attract as many players at their tryouts as any "big" club. There is absolutely NOTHING preventing too players from playing at Bayside over other than other NPL teams for instance. Seacoast in NH attracts lots of MA players who drive long distances to play for them. Heck plenty of RI players have no trouble driving long distances in the other direction to play for a strong program. At one time Bayside actually was a strong program that attracted talent from far distances. But the fact they have fallen off has NOTHING to do with the size of the player pool available to them compared to other clubs, but
that smaller player pool has sure as heck become the byproduct of them falling off.

Bottom line, if Bayside apologists would stop using "player pool size" as an excuse for their weaker teams, and actually addressed the real issues with the club, perhaps the player pool size would actually grow again. Just a thought.

Correction: Not "fail to miss..." but rather "fail to grasp..."

It's got nothing to do with player pool size. Bayside has a reputation as being a club that has no class on the sidelines. Ask parents from any other NPL club.

Limited experience, but can confirm what I saw this spring was out of line if it were a Raiders/Chargers game. Consider it was a girls U12 game, and, well...pretty nuts

Awful scene. Pretty certain his daughter was crying during all of it. Tough situation to see.

On point post. Bayside has become a small club run by a few friends. Run like a social club not a professionally run soccer club. Stay away

Could not be further from the truth. Sour grapes post if ever there was one. Either your kid got cut or you're a coach who got moved on.

Bayside is a great club if you're from Bristol and love Benfica.

All the talent leaves. What is left are lots of no talent kids whose parents are friends with the owner. Talent is around town travel level.

Sounds like MM from Cranston. Daughter was cut. And now will talk crap about the club. What a clown

That's why so many of the older team is playing college soccer on both the boys and girls side.

                            Bayside girls soccer

Every club has its pros and cons. It comes down to coaching and who focus on developing players. The problem is that many coaches make a living coaching and do not focus on any one team. This is a huge problem all over. The more teams you coach the more money a coach makes. Many Bayside coaches coach two, three, or more teams, not to mention high school, college, ODP, Revs, clinics, and other... which the same applies for other clubs. I leave you all with this question: how can a team and players grow when coaches are not focused on the overall health of the team and individual players?

The health of the individual players is on the parents. A coach can only advise. If a parents has a kid playing on up to 4 teams (which they do between town, MS, and two age groups at premier) then that is on them. While there is $$ involved, the parents can put their kid in any program they like.

Bayside is a club focused on player development in my opinion, they had 6 players join the revs academy this year alone...surely that is a focus on player development?

I live in NE Florida. Here we have 2 large clubs. Florida Elite Soccer Academy, and JayFC Armada. I'm reading the posts on this forum and it's the same situation, same complaints, people saying the same things about "Owners" versus "Director of coaching & BOD". Maybe the problem is systemic, across the board, that soccer has become a big business run by businessmen. My other child is playing baseball, all volunteer coaches, there doesn't seem to be as much complaining from the baseball parents when compared to soccer parents. Why is that? So far this year I've paid $2,000 for my daughter to play soccer, and $150 for my son to play baseball, and the regular season hasn't started yet! I'm thinking money may be the root cause that is driving all the negativity.
