it's a fine venue, agree, and if you live in boca or north ft lauderdale, a great place to catch MLS games. But again, after year 1, the trip from miami is much too far, no one takes public transportation, and the lure of drinking and getting into the match wears off when you think of the hour drive home. fan base in ft lauderdale/ boca nowhere near big enough to support the club. they need miami. until they secure miami, I don't see value in the franchise. what makes a franchise valuable is it's fan base, connection to the community, not training facilities. no one cares about the academy training facilities except for the small handful of families that are living their soccer dreams through their kids. I am talking about how to increase franchise value by 100s of millions - the business end game - not facilities. you are looking at it from the standpoint of an operator/ coach / academy parent.
3 years and the club will have a stadium in Miami, but for now they need to use the USL site, which is a really nice venue.
great game but the other teams are weak. ft laud is a good team with a great goalie
You are saying FC Dallas (North TX) are weak? Both teams looked good in the match. Fort Lauderdale even brought up young players, and they did well. Nice win for the first team last night too.
