There are millions more people living in red states that opened up a few weeks ago vs those at protests. Many protestors wear masks, and it's all outside adn they're moving around a lot. Folks inside a church or chatting up over beers at a backyard barbecue without masks = much greater exposure. You can still have a funeral - just limited in attendance. Do a celebration of life later on when it's less raw for everyone. Same with weddings. Our neighbors had a very small affair in their backyard this weekend for their daughter. The couple will have a party later on when conditions warrant. They realized certain things are more important than a big event. They also saved a ton of money that they're putting towards a house. We toasted them over the fence.

I think people in the south/ red states just don't get it. Take a look at the interactive maps. NC/SC about to explode with cases in one week. GA, FL moving up, not down. Texas moving up. Churches, restaurants, and bars have to follow guidelines for Covid. Social distancing is a part of the provisions required. Your notion that these folks are somehow more super spreaders compared to the tens of thousands stacked on top of each other is just ludicrous. I have watched the videos and many aren’t wearing masks. As of matter of fact how many videos have you seen with protesters screaming in the face of police only inches apart? Gee no spread there. Moving around a lot? Great even more chance of spreading the virus to more people. Why stop at 10-15 at a backyard bbq when you can move around exposing hundreds.
