So my question is this as someone who has a U-little kid in the program. CP has been a terribly run, embarrassingly poor program for a few years. How do they expect to bring in MORE players and MORE quality without CFC than with them? Not to mention the hefty price tag. It's a fair question. Here's another. What league will this non-existent club play in? One thing CFC did say at the meeting was that any kid who stayed with CP shouldn't bother showing up at United tryouts at U14. We will be staying with CFC.
That is absurdly high but they were paying for that premium indoor space. CP/IMG won't have that bill. Both clubs can play anywhere depending on what they think is appropriate - CCSL, NYCSL, EDP, ecen CJSA might be appropriate for some teams....lots of options out there.

It won't be hard for CP/IMG to attract players. That's the easy part. Can they attract good-->great players. That's the hard part. Many have tried, few have succeeded to break the CFC multi-headed monster. Look at how hard BS is finding it to recover from their missteps on the girls side.
Same coaches and same kids with purchased IMG affiliation. Why would it make the club better? Will IMG re-staff the club? No. No difference. Like being affiliated with GPS ..... its just a name for hire and many branches are pathetic (also like CFC).

No players will leave Cp soccer club to go with CFC Chelsea. Dave is the best coach in the area and the club will be a success. DF and SS will turn CP soccer club into the best in the area. The coaches at CFC Chelsea are unproven. What have AL,RD or JB ever done and why go with CFC when you can just stay at CP.

AL has developed more of the CFC ECNL players than anyone. His girls are prepared. DF can't win with a loaded Westhill team. How is he going to win a crap CP team. Travel teams are beating his teams in the Chelsea Piers facility. It's a bad spot on top of a huge price to pay.

They have a committed group of parents and kids. Pretty good on girls side. A little push and they could do well

I guess my question would be this. If DF has been running the branch for CFC for the past however many years and it has been decidedly crap, why would it suddenly be any better without CFC's involvement? And the CP facility is nice enough, but I heard the other factor is they never trained outside. Always in CP and on half of one pod. Meaning a 25 x 25 yard space. Not seeing the $3800 value. Fairfield county Parent's have the dough to spend, but they never like getting ripped off. I'm going to guess they will be staying with CFC. Better coaches. Just as nice facilities. Cheaper. Not to mention the allure of United. Any kid who stays with CP can kiss that goodbye. CFC apparently made that clear at the meeting they held.

But if CP was charging CFC for that premium space (which seems likely given the price tag) now CP can lower the price because it's their own space. Field size and no outdoor grass work is a big issue however. United is a draw as well even though very few came from that branch. Parents will pay for that even if it rarely happens.

CP has already listed prices on their updated website. Still a bit pricey. But they are clearly aiming at forming premier teams. Where will they play league games? Where did CFC CP play games before the breakup?

They were in CCSL and CJSA. Most leagues require a minimum number of teams but it's pretty low. Depending on quality and age they could do CJSA, CCSL (younger) EDP (low level brackets) NYCSL. They might not know yet but families will want to know. Some have no interest in doing lots of driving

CCSL or EDP the most likely leagues

                            Perhaps the new Metropolitan League

Pretty sure the metro league requires a full contingent of all aged teams. Even then a band new club isn't likely to get in.

                                I highly doubt that.
