How is that going for them? I looked at the U14 girls and neither FC Portland or Crossfire United are doing very well. 16 games played combined with 2 combined wins. On an up note, it was one win for each club.

I don't think anyone has room to poke fun at any youth soccer currently being offered in Oregon.

Thorns play down to get wins. Nothing wrong with that.

Put yourself out there and expect to get slammed. Really, though, this weekend was just another in a long line of examples of the Thorns Academy playing very weak competition and just barely squeaking through.

Again, playing against teams that are far better than anything on offer in OYSA. Can't compare wins and losses, you have to compare college placements. It's the long run that matters and only ECNL has shown to have nearly 100% college placement while Thorns Academy has been consistently 0%.

It's not fair to evaluate thorns on college placements as that is not really the point. It seems mean spirited to bring that up.

Wow, a lot of people are on here posting fabricated, wait, we'll just call them lies about the Whitecaps event. If you or your dd did not go then why spend the time to lie about it all. Your lives must be very unhappy if you spend so much time trying to tear others down....

This. Why not celebrate the wins instead of picking on them for no college signings.

What part is the lie? The part about Thorns Academy playing well against elite teams?

                      Yes, what is a lie?

Is it a lie that they took a bus to Canada?
Is it a lie that this was a tournament that accepted the last place Eastside Timbers 01 team?

The fact they played B and C teams is irrelevant. They won.

What happens next year when they are losing to "C" and "Rec" teams in GDA? Who to blame then?
