Think time share get together.
NWSL Portland Thorns are subsidizing upwards of 8K to 10K per player, if they don't have a tryout fee then 1000's of girls will show up. Smart move to only have the serious player tryout.

Back to the subject, if there are only a couple of spots left on the already pre-filled Thorns teams, they should be upfront about that so people can decide whether or not they want to pay the tryout fee.

One could argue they go to pay the wages of OYSA flunkies MS and EL which is the most logical appropriation since Peregrine would of never hired these guys unless the OYSA monies were funneled to them. Those monies fund their jobs as no MLS club has control of a State Youth Org.
or the OYSA TIMBERS/THORNS fees could pay for the transfer fee of $1 million for a middle aged south american player on the MLS Roster.
Also the DA's could be funded by the revenues from the corporate suites or the sponsorship dollars from the Root sports package.
This list of possibilities is endless and your left with an empty theory.
The tryout fee is irrelevant in the big picture as they pay for nearly all the expenses of the Timbers/Thorns DA players.
In the end you will never, ever know...and none of what you claim will ever stick and brushed aside. It's a conspiracy theory for now.

DA families need to be gracious and not cocky that they are getting something for free. All Oregon soccer families are supporting you. Learn some class and teach it to your girls.

I'm not going to argue with an idiot. No way does peregriine have millions just sitting there earning interest. Meanwhile, somehow DA can now afford GDA travel. It doesn't need proof. Just a fraction of an ounce of common sense. Just keep living in your la la land feeding off the poor.

No matter how the pie is sliced, a significant portion of Oregon soccer fees paid for a charter bus to take 38 girls and coaches to Canada for the weekend. That is indisputable. Thorns families have officially become (mostly) high income welfare recipients. Does that feel good? Are you grateful? Because you don't sound grateful. You sound like an arrogant tool.
DA families are proving to be 1,000% classless.
Who's the arrogant one?

So ECNL is having its tryouts first week in May, three weeks before their own season is over, just so they can try and commit players before GDA tryouts? They do realize that their top players aren't committing to anything until after GDA tryouts.
