Just because they lost a team doesn't mean they are a "worse" club - they have better coaching than Sporting and stronger talent per team. Bigger isn't always better Sporting intern.

Until there is some kind of consensus as to the criteria that must be used to compare clubs against each other and make an objective assessment, there will be as many "opinions" on this as there are visitors to this site.

And frankly, I don't think there is any way to establish the assessment criteria to such an inane topic.
TS is mostly entertainment. You can't take this stuff too seriously. lighten up and have some fun

OP- The ranking for girls clubs that I put forth took into account the following: 1) What league do the club's teams play in? 2) Do they have a full flight of girls teams? 3) Do they have their own facilities? 4) Do they attract the areas best players? 5) Do their players get recruited to D1 schools? 6) Have they ever produced national team-caliber talent? 7) Quality and depth of coaching staff? 7) Is the girls program overshadowed by the boy's program?

I didn't put these in any particular order or priority.......

not the poster - obviously losing a whole team (or teamS in the case of BS as they've lost more than one in the last few years) speaks a great deal to culture. BS keeps trying to resurrect its girl's program to no avail. They just don't have the draw for players U14+. Good coaching there for the most part so it's a good option for younger players but not a long-term place. If MK managed to get a GDA patch it would be the feat of the decade. The state does not need another GDA club - we shouldn't even have 2 ECNL clubs but that horse has left the barn - and BS's performance with the few older girls teams they have isn't compelling.

As for Sporting and jokes - Sporting is on here non stop promoting themselves so they deserve every slam they get back.

              3) FSA
              4) Yankee

              In terms of college placement:
              1) CFCU (clear edge over rest)
              2) FSA

In terms of leagues they play in:
              1) CFCU, FSA (huge edge among rest, ECNL)
              2) OW, Yankee (same, NPL)
              3) BS

In terms of performance in league play:
              1) FSA (has slight edge recently over CFCU)
              2) CFCU
              3) OW (has huge edge over Yankee)
              4) Yankee
              5) BS

With OW now getting GDA, I would consider the top clubs to be OW, CFCU and then FSA. Yankee and BS will fall further behind as they will continue to play in what now has to be considered the third tier in girls soccer (NPL).

OP here. My kid is young. 10years old. Going to check out both. She's playing at a pop up now and the team has a few good players and then it drops off significantly. Not good for development. Looked at some other pop ups and it looks the same. She's getting a bit frustrated where she is. Time to move.

                      BS girls not in NPL.

No, GDA will take time to develop. For OW it will be basically same teams, same coaches different label. The big question will be what will OW's competition be like in GDA in next year. Big debate on other TS sites whether PDA, Stars will field top or second tier teams for GDA's inaugural year. Other GDA clubs in the region have dropped out already like World Class.

Agree overall but you forgot to add CFCU NPL is much stronger than FSA NPL. Also with the age change and the fact that it's still very early in the spring we need to see where the ECNL performances shake out. BS gets pushed even lower on the totem pole with GDA.

perfect time actually. most teams are just making the transition to Spring. Jump into a couple of outdoor practices and talk to the coaches. And the DOC if you can as well.

Totally agree now is the time to look, not when tryouts start. But you do have to contact the club first for an invite, not just jump in. Walk around the fields and watch not only the team/coach your kid is trying out for but other teams/coaches as well. Talk to parents to try and get some inside info and see if they seem sane.
