    NPL New England Yankee United U16 Revolution vs Aztec

    Yankee United F C, is a member of the U.S,Club Soccer National Premier League( NPL). YUFC teams compete in the 8 team New England Premier League of the NPL at all age groups. The age groups include u12 (two 8v8 teams), u13 to u18. Each team plays a 7 game Spring league schedule (one game per weekend) begins the first Sunday in April and continues on Sundays (Easter Weekend Saturday) finishing the last weekend in May. Their are two additional open weekends in May which augment the NPL league schedule that include the NPL Cross Over Champions Cup College Showcase and Memorial Day Weekend College Showcases.

    Yankee United F.C, strongly believes the New England NPL League 7 game league schedule of two practices during the week, a short preparation practice on Saturday and a Sunday game schedule during the Spring season is most conducive to our players development. The NPL New England NPL League schedule for u12 girls of one game a weekend in a small sided 8v8 format, provides a game environment where all players on the field are forced to get many more touches on the ball. This atmosphere best fosters our girls growth as players at one of the most important times in there development.

        I guess it is more like Major League Baseball thought.

        ECNL = Major Leagues
        North East NPL = Triple A
        EDP NPL = Double A
        New England NPL = Single A
        Region 1 Rookie Ball
        CJSA = Independent League

            Overthinking it. No need for nuances.

            On the Girls' side, more like

            ECNL = A
            NPL = B
            EDP = C
            CJSA = D

                  What's the thinking with 2 games each weekend? Is that worth it?

                    It's easier. You go away out of state, but play two games and then come home, instead of travelling for just one game.

                      MM you are killing me! Why play any games at all? Especially because they are not important. But if it is important why wouldn't you play 2 in a weekend?
                      Drive time? Coach needs to cut his grass? Lose your voice in 2 game weekends? Kids have dance recitals booked on Saturdays? Discounted movie tickets on Saturdays?
                      My kid wants to train AND play games. Guess we should avoid their league.

                        CJSA = D
                        That does not make sense as there are three NPL leagues: North East, New England, EDP
                        Region I league is quite different than CJSA.

                        So with out nuances.

                          No nuances:

                          1) ECNL
                          2) The rest

                            Game set and match. Thanks for ruining it for us. We are trying to argue who the first place loser is.

                              Ouch -- seems like MM really gets your goat for some reason.

                              I'm just a parent who was wondering whether playing on Sat-Sun is worth it. It sounds like it's structured so that you have away weekends and home weekends, which makes sense. On the other hand it's like doing a tournament every other weekend except that the game locations may be separated a bit farther.

                              I think the underlying question here (and I agree with you that this post sounds like it was started by Yankee, but it's still an important question), is what are the relative costs and benefits of playing on an ECNL B team versus and NPL A team like Oakwood or Yankee.
