Explain to me how ECNL tryouts work? They are separate from regular tryouts? Is that what FSA is doing?

If you click on "news" at the bottom of the left column the first thing that pops up is the boys ECNL ID clinic. But it is not listed on the tryouts page.

We are pleased to announce the 2017-2018 FSA FC Boys ECNL program. Please join us on April 28, 2017 to find out more about the boys program by attending the ID and informational clinic held at FSA Park. Players will participate in an open training format designed to preview FSA FC’s coaching staff and world class facilities. A brief Q&A will be held at the conclusion of the training session to provide information about the FSA FC Boys ECNL Program. All attendees must register for this event. Clinic is open to boys born (2005- 1999). For more information call FSA FC @ (860) 404-5789.

Interesting that it's called an ID clinic and not a tryout. It's for all ages so what are they going to get out of that? Really the teams are set anyway - they're just putting a new league patch on the A team uniforms. If you're not with the club already it will be tough to break in, same as the girls side

It's for all ages, the way tryouts are for all ages -- each year is seen separately on its own field.
Agree hard to break in if you aren't already at FSA, but of course they will take any outstanding player.

Just got an email from cfc, with their younger boys' ECNL tryouts on the same day. It was in my spam folder, so I don't know if these were announced some time ago or if both clubs are a bit disorganized. Can anyone she'd any light?
Also what do you think the turnout will be like? It's certainly been pretty quiet on TS, and there wasn't much lead time before the tryouts.

CFC UNITED ECNL BOYS TRYOUTS
2017/18 TRYOUT INFORMATION
CFC United Boys are proud to have been announced as one of the founding members of the Boys ECNL Northeast Conference!
The Boys ECNL has recently announced the initial clubs selected into their Northeast Conference. The conference will kick-off competition in the 2017-2018 season in a ground-breaking moment for boys' soccer across the country as a qualifying conference for the ENPL (Elite National Premier League). Founded to improve the daily environment for boys youth soccer players through a holistic and collaborative club-based development program, the Boys ECNL will feature regular season conference competition and regular season cross conference events / showcases for its member clubs. Qualifying teams, based on regular season performance, will advance to the post-season championship of the ENPL, along with qualifiers from various National Premier Leagues across the country.
The Northeast Conference will feature competition in 6 age groups: U13 (Pre-ECNL) U14, U15, U16, U17, and U18/19. Teams will be placed in geographical divisions, playing approximately 14-16 conference games, with additional 3-6 games in cross-conference regular season events depending on age group. Breaking onto the older teams at either club will be very tough - they have their established teams and they're only switching the leagues they play in. CFC might be an easier target at the formation age group because their boys programs at the branch level are so weak. They'll probably take far more outside players than FSA will.
