No soccer in pa/ de... nj next?

Looks like PA and DE are putting the brakes on all sports until 2021. Says this included high school and recreational sports. Assuming travel soccer is included? Do you think nj is next? And if nj is ok to play... who will we play??? Maybe time to stop payment on club?

Nah, continue to pay up and enjoy the ride. Plus the coaches and their families got to eat so please support.

PA has only recommended school and recreational sports which isn't a shut down. Not even sure why non-school sports would be included since those that have been going on for the last month haven't had any issues.

DE was only for school sports.

NJ will most likely hit the school sports as transportation and practices (with schools either remote only or on split time basis) logistics will be an issue.

Why would you think youth sports outside of school would be such a problem? I haven't heard of a club practice, scrimmage or event that has spawned an outbreak or cluster. Ds been to 2 tournaments and because of this EDP has had to get their **** together and have games played in blocks. No more goofy times of 8am and 1pm or 11am and 4pm. Play a game rest 20min play the next. In and out and still have time to do something during the day.

What if they don’t provide a product at all???? How is that fair?

Depends on what you consider "not providing a product". If you consider only playing games in the fall what they provide, then by all means go. Likely, this wasn't for you anyway.

Wrong. PA gov recommended it. Did not require it. Private and religious high schools still going forward.
Starting later but still plans to play.

Youth sports in PA are all but done for the upcoming season. The “recommendation” will become a mandate shortly.

looks like PA club soccer will continue ...

                https://www.epysa.org/covid-message-from-our-ceo/

"On Thursday evening, the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Board of Directors and senior staff held an emergency meeting to discuss Governor Wolf’s recommendation on the postponement of youth sports. The Governor and Department of Health “strongly recommended” but did not order or mandate a cessation of soccer and has left the decision up to the local governing authorities. After thoughtful discussion, the board was unanimous in its decision to continue to sanction youth soccer activities for the 2020-21 season. These sanctioned activities include team training, scrimmages and competitions. "

I believe that NJ will shortly follow with halting youth sports as well. In the last 14 days cases have spiked in the State 68%. That is just leading into August with school beginning in a month. This spike is only beginning now and will increase going into the Fall. Gov. Murphy is very proactive when it comes to this pandemic and will take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of the citizens in NJ. Unfortunately, with no federal guidelines the governors are left with no choice but act in the best interest of those in their states and that means no sports being a by-product.

The grim reaper on here wants kids to stay inside and waste life in basement like him/her. Nope.

Games are 1/2 of it. What are you training for, competition!

I love the "spike/surging" lingo and media as almost a last ditch effort to scare people into cancelling and shutting things down as Nov. 3rd gets closer. A 96%-98% Corona survival rate is rarely reported, but the posts like the one above quotes a "spike" of 68%...68% as compared to what exactly? Who is spiking? Where are they? Will their full recovery also be reported? Active Pro athletes have a 99.99999-100% corona survival rate.

Murphy is very proactive - tell that to the thousands of seniors sent to nursing homes and to their eventual deaths. 43% of NJ Corona deaths are nursing home seniors. Over 80% of deaths are peoplel over 65 years old with underlying issues. none or very few of this group will play sports or be watching them from the sidelines this Fall.

I'm positive that if protocols are followed in outdoor situations - Fall sports should go forward and will continue to be a positive factor in young people's lives.

We can do without a Fall season. It’s really not that critical. Back at it next season. Looking forward to it!
