Pretty brutal what’s going on out there and this is just the beginning. Some sports appears pretty safe but others will get shut down.

UCONN athletics have been bleeding money for years. Many schools are reconsidering the role of some sports. the big sports should be ok in terms of still running but scholarships and other spending may be cut.

yes, a domino effect from parents using sports programs to bribe your child's way into college
many athletes will not need college and face the inherent restrictions to advance their athletic careers
the advent of virtual college pulled back the curtain and exposed college as overpriced and as underdelivering

I get the impression the number of cuts came from a reporter, not anything that specific from the school itself. Many schools have announced 1-2 team cuts. All schools are looking at drastic cost cutting measures but the impact on athletics will vary greatly school to school
